Guest guest
I think that someone misheard their physician when they heard them say to not take pain medication when they were on methotrexate. There are thousands and thousands of us who take dozens of types of pain meds and NSAIDs with metho with no ill effect. In fact, if you look at the fine print in the methotrexate insert, it does not mention not being able to take pain medication. The one thing it will state is NO ALCOHOL. And for those who are new to taking the Metho. It can take 6-8 weeks for you to notice any improvement in your condition when you start on the methotrexate. Even longer if the doctor started you on too small a dose for your condition. Every one of our situations is different. I can tell you that from my several years experience of monitoring the list, there have been members on doses of Metho as high as 60 mg of Metho by injection once a week, and as low as 5 mg. a week. So you can see there is quite a range. I highly recommend checking out the list archives on Metho-so much info will pop up for you to read!
