I try to always take my Synthroid and Cytomel in the A.M., and the 2nd dose of my Cytomel before 3 P.M.. b
Guest guest
Sorry, somehow in the 300 messages i have received since this one, I somehow overlooked your reply. I discovered the info re Synthroid vs Antiinflamatories in Good Housekeeping on their Medical page. I have also discovered that Zoloft causes insomnia so I take it in the morning. Didnt mean to ignore you. Guest guest
During a seminar regarding thyroid problems, the two docs both strongly emphasized that you should NOT take iron within 2 hours of taking your thyroid medication. If you do, you will lose most of the effect of the medication. So, do not iron supplements or vitamin/mineral supplements with your Synthroid. Check any OTC stuff for iron. I take my Synthroid in the morning and my vitamin/mineral in the evening. Diane in Texas
Guest guest
Synthroid is a hormone replacement medication. It replaces the thyroid hormone your thyroid gland is no longer able to produce as well. YOU NEED TO TAKE IT. Many people don't feel Synthroid is the best thyroid medicine for them, but there is nothing dangerous about taking it...in fact, the danger for thyroid patients is in not taking their medicine. jt7300_69 <jt7300_69@...> wrote: I'AM NEW TO THIS GROUP.. Guest guest
Joann. Hi, welcome to the group. I have been on thyroid hormone therapy for almost a year. I started on Armour. I had slight improvement of symptoms but, nothing like I have had with Synthroid. Within two or three days I felt soooo much better. My biggest fear when starting therapy was of dependence and eventual intollerance. I was really hoping in the beginning that there was something " natural " I could do. There really isn't I guess. There are some things that have not been resolved and may never be. But, I feel as if I can function again. Don't be afraid. Chriss.
Guest guest
Hi & welcome! When I started taking Levoxyl (it's like a generic of Synthroid) I started feeling better after a couple of weeks. You need to take thyroid hormones...like the others have said...you risk coma or death if you don't. If it makes you feel better, I've never had any bad side effects from it. Mom my just started taking it about a month ago and says she feels so much better than what she did. Take care and keep in touch, Sheila jt7300_69 <jt7300_69@...> wrote: I'AM NEW TO THIS GROUP..
