Guest guest
I am sorry to hear about your psoriasis. I understand this too well. I have regular ol' plaque psoriasis over the most of my body, inverse under both breasts, under arm area and also in groin. Also have times when I have pustular in between fingers and toes. So, it is very very likely to have more than one type or all types at the same time. I have never been perscribes Dovonex cream...have heard alot about it though. Was hard for me to find one med to treat all 3 tyes at the same time. Good luck!! > > > Hi all, > > i have a subset type of psoriasis - plantar palmar pustular > psoriasis, i.e. on my feet and hands - nails, etc. and it starts as a > pustule, then the next day it is dried up and deep in colour and then > the following day starts to dry up and shed... > > for me, mtx made it MUCH worse - odd, huh? also, to a lesser extent > gold does the same thing. i am off mtx now because it wasn't helping > and on 50 mg of gold i was getting a rash so the dose has been > reduced. therefore the DMARD's i take are plaquenil and 10 mg > injection weekly of gold. > > when vioxx was taken off the market (sob), i tried arthrotec but it > severely bothered my stomach so i am now on mobic (last 3 weeks). i > was also prescribed pariet which helps with acid build up in the > stomach. Guest guest
hi marti darlin', first of all, thanks everyone for responding to my e-mail about having two different types of p.... i'm an anomaly i guess - plaq did not make my p worse - it's the only one that didn't - within 8 hrs of taking mtx i had pustules popping out all over my feet and hands - before taking mtx i didn't have it on my hands except in very rare occasions and it was just a wee bit of dry peeling skin. with mtx it was awful and started going under my nails and deforming them. also started under and around my toes which was also a first. my rheumy told me 'do you know the difference between serious and severe? the p may be severe, but pa is serious and if mtx works, it helping your pa is more important than making the p worse " . adding gold to it made it even worse. when i stopped mtx the p lessened as well. on my legs, the two spots are little red dots (guttate? like chicken pox?) and are very dry and itch like the dickens. looking closely they do appear somewhat scaly. kathy, is dovonex prescription? i'm not seeing my rheumy until jan 11 and have never seen a dermatologist. perhaps this needs to be rectified... thanks again for your help everyone. not the news i wanted to hear, but not surprized either... love, karen > > > > > the DMARD's i take are plaquenil and 10 mg > > injection weekly of gold. > > > >.
