I am counting the days until Monday. I only hope I am not disappointed. Right now I am in Florida visiting my sister and my feet and ankles are swollen like balloons. I am so sick of my sister, brother in law and husband calling me gimby and making a joke when I cannot do what they can. Janet
Guest guest
Last Thursday, I had several actinic-keratoses frozen on my right arm. That same day, I took my first Enbrel shot. The dermatologist said not to delay, that I should start the Enbrel right away. BTW, the Enbrel took several hours to dissolve, and even at the end there was still a white ring around the solution. Of course I called Enbrel.com but was rather annoyed that their instructions specifically say to wait until it's completely clear, which apparently never happens! Here's what happened over the next 5 days: Fatigue, terrible muscle aches (just like a bad flu), and a raging infection in the arm. I realized I had to lay off the Enbrel until the arm is completely healed. So I skipped the Monday dose, and will probably skip the one tommorrow, Thursday, as well. I also had some abdominal pain and indigestion, but I have those from time to time anyway. The other thing that happened was that in the middle of the night, starting the second night, my lungs felt " funny " . Not exactly like asthma, which I have, but just a distinct feeling it was difficult to breathe in and out - like pressure or heaviness. My other meds are prednisone, 2 mg/day, pentasa (for ulcerative colitis), diuretics, 1/4 tablet of lexapro, 20 mg/night of elavil, inhaled steroid for asthma. Has anyone had the breathing problem with Enbrel? Does this mean I will have to stop? My theumie hasn't called back! Thanks, claire Callahan Goodman claire@... My Dad has an arrythmia and it can be triggered by stomach problems. The Vaga Nerve is affected by the stomach and can affect the Heart. Guest guest
Well, I have had asthma all my life, and recently had an endoscopy, and was told I don't have reflux. Glad to hear yours was GERD-related and you were able to stop it. This feeling I had in my lungs was only for the three nights after taking the Enbrel, and it was not like asthma. It was more just a feeling of difficulty breathing. claire
Guest guest
I had the same experience. I could not take MTX either orally or by injection. It made me sick as a dog for days. I felt relief from pain with my first Enbrel injection. After three weeks my inflammation resolved. I was able to go off all other medications. I was on Enbrel for 1.5 years then off for 16 months. I'm back on it again after a flare but am only doing one injection per week. It has turned the disease around again. The only problem I have with Enbrel is it overstimulates me like having had to much coffee. I am more emotional, less rational, and quicker to temper while on it. Sometimes I take Klonopin to take the edge off. R.E. [ ] Enbrel Experience > hi everyone, > > the reason iam posting is that i want to share my experience with this wonderful drug. Today i took my third dose of enbrel, i sware that i noticed a difference the day after my first shot. The difference of course was not with the swelling but with joint pain. The only problem was with this huge syringe, i tried to inject myself the first time, it was successful yet painful. Now i go to the clinic in my area which is only five minutes from my house and the doctor and nursing services are free so i take the enbrel and the nurse gives me the shot. I am realy happy that i stopped the MTX which used to cause alot of side effects (nausia, fatigue...) and started enbrel .i wish the best to everyone in the group. God bless you . > > Ghaida,,,,
