Bob - I hope the enbrel helps you. It helped me at least as much as the MTX

which I am now off of. I'm also on vioxx and prednisone as needed (which

thank God isn't often). I hope you get to go off the MTX because the side

effects of that are nasty and you'll feel better on the Enbrel.

I'm with you in your vow. I might get down some days, but I'll be damned if

I'll let this beat me! I keep working every day even though some doctors

have recommended I go on disability. (I also have diabetes and sleep apnea).

I know with all the support I have online and off that I'm going to be able

to keep going.

Take care,

Bob,

Thank you. I opened your post today, really feeling sorry for myself and

down. I was ready to stay in my PJ's all day. I am having sausage toes, and

had to increase my pred ...so it kinda wears on a positive attitude.

Yes ..Yes...yes....this is a battle! And I too, commit to going on and doing

the normal things in life I love to do. I have a wonderful husband, who does

more than anyone can imagine, and 2 children and 6-1/2 beautiful grand

children. They all own my heart, and I cannot bear to not be able to play

with them.

Thank you for the positive thoughts,

Gentle Hugs & Prayers,

Carol

Keep the attitude, Bob!

2 years ago I was right where you are now and starting to get really

discouraged and sick from the meds. In May of '2001 I started Enbrel, and

within 3 months was off all the other meds except vioxx. By January of 2002

I was only taking Vioxx occasionally. With the exception of the time I had to

stop the Enbrel for 2 weeks when I had eye surgery (started to flare) I have

been able to do more than I have in years.

I pray the same for you very soon. Be well
