Guest guest
A plastic milk container serves as a very good sharps container if you don't have one. We have 3 homes and only one sharps so in case I tote my Humira around to another house, I always have an empty plastic milk container around so that I can safely discard my used needles anywhere. Kathy F. hey, that's where my new sharps container went! i have been waiting for a month to get mine, i got the cooler, but i am not going anywhere! What do you do with the syringes when the containers are full? I have my old ones in the house from when I took the Enbrel. JANET
Guest guest
If you call the Enliven toll free number they will tell you what the local requirements are for safe disposal of used needles/containers. It is different in almost every county and state. In my county you have to tape up the container and then just throw it in the trash, sort of surprised me to say the least. Guest guest
Check with your local municipality as every community's rules are different. In NYC, I am allowed to seal the containers and put them out with the regular garbage provided I have broken off all the needles (which I do immediately after injecting). In another community, I am supposed to bring them to the town dump in person and fill out a form. Suffice it to say, I bring all the containers back to NYC for disposal. Some doctors and pharmacies are willing to dispose of them for you. Check with your town's waste disposal officers for the offical verdict. Kathy F. Guest guest
Same here, we were told to throw that needles in the trash, that no one around here, including hopsitals disposes of them. Our solution is to toss them into the wood stove to melt. Jane in MI
