Guest guest
Hi Cheri.... It was nice to learn a little bit about you... You're a full time student...what are you studying.... and a mom...2 and 6 ...those are great ages...but I bet they keep you really busy.... As far as reading your biopsy results...it really is different everywhere... when Ty had his biopsy his doctor came out and told me what they thought...and a few days later they called to tell me what the results were.... I think it is the same with alot of tests...like an xray...some pcp can read them...but they wait for the specialist to read it....so I think the same happens here... We have been seeing Tylers doctors for over 20 yrs now....I was pregnant with Ty when my other son... was diagnosed at 3 with UC...the same doctors....so we are like family... will be looking to see more from you... As I said, I am new to all this and know nothing (well, ive been reading and learning, thanks to this group) It may seem as though I took it lightly but I do not. Just honest questions and thanks for your input. What a loss that is for everyone who knew the member who passed away. My sympathies and good luck to everyone who is fighting the fight. Thanks, Cheri When I was diagnosed, less than two years ago, I didn't even know where my liver was or exactly what it did! During the last year and a half, about half-a-dozen members have died that I know of. On the other hand, many of us are doing very well. My doctor tells me that two years ago I was very close to liver failure, and I'm having a wonderful time now, enjoying myself more than ever before, although with limited energy. Naturally, we hear the least often from those who are extremely ill and those who have been able to completely resume their previous lives. Guest guest
Merry Christmas! so nice to get an email from ya. I think as you eat more proteins ( with a little fat) you're face will look not drawn but thin and healthy. I know that people who cut out all fats and lose weight do look drawn in the face. So we need to eat balanced and not 'diet' after all we are plumbed for success!! LOL Sounds like you are pretty close to your goal if you are in size 10. Wow! I am just looking forward to NOT be in plus sizes! What a dream come true that will be. Please be careful that you don't overdose on the fish oil ...to much of even a good thing is not good. Its not been sunny here lately either cloudy and cold ( I'm freezing most of the time anyways now post op) Take care Pison hugs Cheri -- Re: Cheri Cheri, thankyou for the info! Guest guest
Hello Cheri, Right now I feel like an overstuffed turkey from all of the pills I'm now taking. This is what I'm taking but YOU tell me if you think I'm overdosing, okay? I thought the Flax seed would help me with constipation but it seems to be giving me more gas than anything along with that dreaded bloated feeling..and gas was never an issue before I started taken them..or is it the fish oil? Hmmmm 2 fish oils at 1700 mg's each serving 3X's daily 2 Flax seed oil pills at 1200 mg's each 3X's daily plus my prilosec and benefiber And let me tell you, I about GAG on those fish oil and flax seed oil pills..those pills are HUGE as in over a inch long! Oh the price we pay to be beautiful..LOL Yes, I am almost at goal..I have about 25-30 more pounds and I'll be there! WOOOHOOO and I feel GREAT! I've been having a ball buying all the very cute jeans out there and ya know, for an old lady I'm looking pretty darn good in them! I bought size 9's about a month ago (4 pair) or a 31 waist and their already getting too big. I have noticed though that even when the scale is NOT moving, the inches do! I actually look better this time at this weight and size than I did the last time I lost a lot of weight which was about 4 years ago. Now my face, thats a different story..It is looking very drawn right now so I'm upping the protein as you mentioned..again..hoping the Fish and Flax oil helps as well. It's nice to be one of the smaller ones in the room and not the biggest. I can't tell you what losing this weight is doing for my self-esteem Cheri. It amazes me every day..What a feeling to wake up in the morning and KNOW that the clothes in my closet will fit! And, the best part..KNOWING that I dont have to worry about outgrowing them 1 week after I bought them as I normally would do. I have to admit though that I've been a baaaad girl since my step son got here from Germany. I'm either not eating enough or I could be eating healthier. My daughter in law is an awesome cook so I've given her my kitchen..and boy I have to tell you, the Germans eat some pretty rich foods. A lot of cheese with their meat and sour cream or whipping cream and pot atoes..It's to die for! but not good for the waist line..I've decided to stay OFF the scale while their here and then get back on my regular eating schedule when they leave on the 2nd. Thats if I dont die from the gas first! Hope that you and your family have a wonderful Christmas as well and a safe happy New Year! We all here on this board have sooo much to look forward to and to be grateful for as well. I know that " I " for one am looking forward to the New Year and what it will bring and for once my resolution can be something other than losing weight! Yippeee Love ya girlfriend. Take care and blessings

Guest guest
Continued prayers for you and flea as you both go through this difficult time. Blessings Cheri -- Re: Cheri Thanks Cheri! She has been accepted, she has to stay here a few more days for tests. Then she has to go home and get everything in order and she will come back next week. I may fly up and drive back down with her in her car. She is very independent and wants to be able to have her own vehicle. So we may have a long few weeks in front of us. But the Doctor told her that without effective treatment she may have only 6 months left with us. So we are praying this is effective! Thanks everyone for your prayers

Guest guest
Hi I tried to email you personally but I must have your email wrong. It was so great to hear from ya. I am leaving for Vegas tomorrow morning and next week I'm going to visit with Dr Rutledge. I am 6 MOS out and have lost 58 lbs. I hope he'll have some advice. I don't eat much meat either. Steak is out for sure. I can do ground beef like in a taco but can't do a hamburger patty. Go figure. Sometimes chicken is ok other times.... Not so much. So I start my day with a protein shake with yogurt and milk and sometimes strawberries or bananas. That gives me about 40 grams of protein for the day. Which is a good start for the day. So you must be at your goal now? I've seen your pictures on the site and you look sooooo gorgeous! I bet your hubby is loving the new you! Take care pison cheri -- Re: Cheri Hi Cheri, How are you pison? I would LOVE to get together when I head south again! Are things still moving slow and steady for you?
