Guest guest
Hi , I am severly allergic to sulfa- had one reaction that landed me in the hospital for 8 days years ago. I have had excellent results from enbrel w/ no side effects at all for almost 3 years now. Last spring, I had a flare of P and started soaking w/ Dead Sea salts but it kept getting worse and my legs swelled up and started weeping badly- thought it was cellulitis or vasculitis- the dermie did skin bx's, had to be on high dose steroids and anitiotics. It took quite awhile to settle down- Oddly- a few months ago, in one of the Psoriasis magazine issues there was an article about Dead Sea salts which listed the components- the first of which was sulphur compounds. My dermie has been warning all her P patients w/ sulfa allergies not to use sea salts as she feels that was what triggered several months of misery. Take care and good luck w enbrel!
