I think it is costrochondritis and it is really painful sometimes. I had a

new thing yesterday going down my arm. It was a weird burning sensation on

my forearm. Why am I not surpised. Now when anything weird happens or goes

on in my body I am not surprised at all. What is one more thing.

My daughter had it so bad when she

was younger they really thought she had a heart problem. She wore a heart

monitor to school for a week, that was a " fun time " ....NOT!!!!!! So I know

on some people it can be really intense.

I also got really scared the first time it happened to me. I thought I was

going to die of a heart attack and this was quite some time ago. I went ot

an internest and had tests and an EKG and then he told me it is probably

arthritis related.

> Janet, you wrote that you had a " weird burning sensation " down your

arm? Maybe its different, but when my wrists get really bad, my

forearms get numb - my rheumy told me its a sort of arthritis induced

carpal tunnel syndrome. If this is what you're experiencing a wrist

brace may give you some relief - it helped me.

janet, i second what beth has written. the exact same thing happens

to me; i also have pa induced carpal tunnel and when i was in a rehab

hosp last year they fitted me with two leather wrist splints. they

go with me everywhere and are my best friends. when my wrists flare

(ever more than normal - they are always flared) pain goes all the

way up my arms and when the inner side of my wrists get inflamed,

sharp shooting pain up my arms to my elbows, rhythmically with every

heart beat - obviously nerves being pinched...

love, karen

COSTOCHONDRITIS is how the word is spelled, I think...

My ribs also hurt. It is one of my worse complaints.

I also have fibro and pa but I've been

led to believe that it is the pa that is the cause.

Hi All,

Sorry that I am way behind in answering this. I spoke about this sort of

problem a couple of months back and mentioned a " clicking " feeling at my ribcage

when I take a deep breath. I spoke to the professor I attend in Glasgow about

this and I think that is what he suggested it might be. He asked a few

questions about how long I have had it and how painful it is. He also sent me

for

an X-ray in case it was something else. I didn't hear anything else about it

so I reckon it is what he thought it was.

Cheers,
