Very true Shari.. if we don't change our eating habits, we are just putting band aids on things.

So many people have written so much about how to cleanse and no one has addressed what to do to avoid this situation after.

You can do all the cleansing you want, but if you don't address your eating and drinking habits after the cleanse you will be in the same mess in a very short time. As someone who has battle constipation all her life, I can tell you that no amount of colon or liver or gallbladder cleansing is going to help if you don't change what you eat.

Even being 99% raw I have times I cannot move anything through me. Then I take a very good fiber product that helps to keep me regular. And by regular we are talking at least 3 large bowel movements per day. Not one every 3 days, 3 EVERY day. Every time you eat, you should have a movement.

Dairy, meat, and wheat are the worst offenders in the constipation department. I have found that bread & pasta will stop my body functions with one serving.

A good book to read is "Our Body's Many Cries For Water" by Dr. Batmandjani. He claims that 90% of ALL illness can be cured (yes, he uses the word "cured") with more water.

My father died of colon cancer at 66 and this was a man who ate meat EVERY single day I knew him (I was 41 when he passed.) I gave up meat the day he was diagnosed. My mother died of liver failure 6 years later (she never had a drink in her life). Her liver would not process fats. Even the medical profession told her to give up dairy, and she said she "couldn't". She died. I became a raw food advocate.

My best friend survived breast cancer with uncooked fruits & vegetables and lots of FIBER! She is alive today (8 years later) and she really believes it is because she gave up cooked food and she keeps her colon clean.

I am a believer in colonics and have the great good fortune to have two wonderful colon hydrotherapists in my circle of friends. Both are in their 50's and studied with Ann Wigmore. One used to hang out at her house when she was a kid.

Here's a website with great information on whole foods and the fiber product I have used for a number of years: www.hacres.com
