Hi everyone, I am pretty much a lurker. My PA has been in remission for

almost 6 months now and I am so happy. The question I have now is, How in the

world can I get rid of the psoriasis or put it in remission? It seems to get

worse when the arthitis is in remission. Is there any natural home remedies

that

anyone reccomends to try. I have the psoriasis on my elbows, one leg and

ears and it is SPREADING like a wild fire. HELP!!!!!!

Thanks in advance

Hi ,

Well I had the PA really bad in my knees, shoulders and back. The most

pain was in my knees and I could not get up from a sitting position for the life

of me. Well, Back in January I needed to lose about 30 lb. from having a

baby and I went on a quest to achieve that. I did the Kellogg cornflake diet

religiously and did LOTS of exercise, I noticed as I was gaining more muscle

mass

the PA was diminishing. I kept up the exercise and within 2-3 weeks the PA

was in remission. I have not had ANY pain since. I am enjoying not having the

pain right now. I don't know if it was due to the diet or the exercise or

something else. I have had PA since I was 14 and got Psoriasis when I was 23

shortly after having my first baby. I had been tested any times for RA but the

tests kept coming up negative, it wasn't until I got the Psoriasis that the

DR. pinpointed what type of arthritis I have had. (PA) Since I have had PA it

has gone into remission several times out of the blue, sometimes for a year.

But when it comes back it is debilitating. I hope that helps a little. The

only thing I have ever taken is prednisone and it didn't help. I don't have

insurance so when I get the PA I basically have to just ride the pain out and

just

deal with it. I really enjoy bending down to play with my children, I thank

the LORD everyday to be pain free even if it is for a short amount of time :)

Different things work for different people. And somethings work for a time and

then won't. Right now I am on Enbrel, and MTX. However I'm being weaned off the

MTX. The Enbrel seems to be working on my Psoriasis and i'm getting " real "

smooth skin. Still a little red yet, but hey i'll take red vs. scales and itch

anyday. I am a sever psoriasis patient. Have been for years. Very little has

worked for any length of time for me. Remissions are a God send...I wish you

well in finding something that will work for you. Donna

How old are you now? This is very intriguing. I always say if I could just stop

work for a few months and put my mind to working out and eating right, I could

put this in remission. I really do believe that. However, with a stressful job

it is virtually impossible. I do feel MUCH better when I take the time to

exercise. The inflammtion is less, especially when I lift weights, and life is

grand for a few days! What kind of exercising are you doing? Thanks for your

help!

Isn't that what Methotrexate does?
