Hey Mr.

Glad to see you posting again. Hope you are doing well. I guess you can

see how many new members we have here. What meds are you taking now?

Hello to all, This is " #2 " ...I have been busy for so long with so many

things going on... as we all are, I'm sure. I haven't had the time to turn the

computer on, and for months my computer was not even working properly... so

hopefully I will become more active soon, again.

I wanted to comment on two issues I noticed recently on our site:

First, I am almost 47, began symptoms of P and PA at the same time...

approximately the age of 33... after the first Gulf War... lots of stress for me

at that time: I was residing in Jordan, my mom had just passed away, we moved

back to the U.S., and had four young children under the age of 8 years... so it

was a very overwhelming time for me. There is no one in my family with or 'that

every had' (that we know about) with either P or PA... however, my mother did

have Multiple Sclerosis and passed away at the age of 58. I am currently on

Cyclosporine and MTX.... AND...

Second, concerning 'acupuncture'... I just went through four sessions of LASER

ACUPUNCTURE... it did relieve the excruciating pain in my spine... however, it

seems my immune system took the laser as an 'attack' and then my psoriasis

flared... so, this is just my experience... kind of 'damned if you do and damned

if you don't' situation.

I will not have any more sessions, I am sure it does wonders for others with

other problems and different situations...

Good luck to all and better health to all, take care... #2

..... 'laser acupuncture' was something new for me... as it was the newest thing

I decided to try it... a laser machine was used and each 'zap' was targeted at

the various points up and down my spine... 'supposedly', it is suppose to have

the same effect as using the little needles, but without perforating the

skin.... anyway, I tried 4 sessions, it seemed to be working... but, as I

mentioned before... my experience was that my body took it as an attack and my

psoriasis flared...

Several years ago I did go through the traditional acupuncture sessions for

migraines and miscellaneous aches and pains... it did help a bit, but I must

admit that I was too impatient to continue all the sessions that I should

have... plus, my kids were younger then and I suppose I thought of acupuncture

as a luxury... now I would consider it a necessity and would be willing to try

it again.

Anyway, good luck to everyone in whatever works for them... I would still

consider the traditional acupuncture as you were referring to...

Sorry it did not work for you. I have no idea what " laser " acupuncture is, but

it does not sound like the 3500 year old tradition from which I benefitted.

Guess it depends on the treatment and the person being treated.
