Guest guest
Geri, Every time I read your posts, I identify with symptoms that I am going thru. This disease is truly unpredictable! Things change from one day to the next. I still am smoking. With every thing else that I have given up this year, I just can't seem to give up that one. I get a lecture from someone about it almost daily. My itching had been sporadic until the past couple of days and now it is driving me nuts!! I want to scream. I see my primary doc on Thursday. I hope she can give me something to stop it. Take care, Ginger AIH
Guest guest
Ginger, Since we are all coming clean - I too am a smoker! After I gave up alcohol I refused to give up my only other vise! Of course then after a few years they decided coffee was a vise! Oh well, we gotta have some vises to be human! Hugs,

Guest guest
Ginger, I too have not given up smoking, though I have to next week or my parents (I'm 50 years old!) will kill me! And don't people just love to lecture? (in a sanctimonious way, or course!) Honey, I am the QUEEN of itching and anti-itch endeavors, pills, potions, lotions, ointments, creams, powders...if you want any more info, just let me know! Good luck on Thursday. P.S. To all, once again, Actigall did nothing to relieve my itching. KayK in Austin, AIH/PBC
Guest guest
Dear Ginger, If your AIH parallels mine, you apparently have " simple " AIH, which blessedly means no PBC, RA, Lupus or some of the other frightening partner diseases to AIH. That's the plus. On the downside, the symptoms I describe about how I felt before I was diagnosed are symptoms that should have led to an earlier discovery that I was going into end-stage liver disease. The doctor who did my biopsy and originally diagnosed PBC commented (more to himself), " now, if we could only figure out why your cirrhosis developed so rapidly. " Since NO doctor had ever spotted or even tested for liver disease, he couldn't blame himself. The first time he ever saw me was in the OR. My biopsy showed stage IV (scale I to IV) cirrhosis and stage 3 (scale 3-4) inflammation. I only mention this because you are having such a terrible problem with itching. Mine was worst pre-diagnosis, pre-medication, and it's a symptom of serious liver disease, plain and simple. I am jumping to a conclusion here because as the inflammation came under control and my bile ducts were cleared through whatever procedure they did, the itching rapidly stopped. This would be funny if it weren't so scary, but when I complained about itching to the new Hepatologist who would become my regular AIH treating doctor, he said, " yes, I've heard that people with liver disease have a problem with itching. He offered no solution, nothing to relieve it. I knew so little then, I had no idea that I could have had at least a small bit of relief. So, where do you stand right now, medically? Forgive me for losing track but I'm so backlogged on re-reading and commenting on posts that I'm losing track. Are you seeing a Hepatologist who has experienced treating people with autoimmune liver diseases? Have you had a biopsy, and if so, what was the conclusion? Hope I'm not making you repeat yourself and I probably am. IMO, there's no such thing as " just " anything with this disease. " Just " fatty liver or " just " fibrosis or " just " inflammation, means that the process has started and it will most likely relentlessly progress to cirrhosis and worse if not treated. From my point of view, you don't run around putting out fires, you do fire prevention. The idea, I hope, is to keep cirrhosis from developing and that requires medication. If it's an autoimmune condition, that would consist of immunosuppressive drugs, whether Imuran, Prednisone or both. If you're having extreme symptoms and it hasn't set off a big alarm with your doctor, it's time to move on and don't let him or her brush you off with platitudes and condescension. Not easy to get answers, I know. I dealt for more than a year with two Hepatologists who already were on their way out the second they stepped into the exam room. A real joke. I now see that as total medical irresponsibility as well as unforgivable arrogance and lack of compassion. I'm not in a hurry to quit smoking. I really don't give a hoot about " social " pressures. It's a calculated risk I choose to take. I don't blow smoke in babies faces or light up when I'm in the same room with an asthmatic or person with emphysema. My mother also smoked and she used to say, " it's a dirty habit, but it's MY dirty habit. " I don't demand that anti-smokers stay in a room with me nor do I have any interest in sharing their space. I try to be considerate, but I expect the consideration of courtesy in return, i.e., no proselytizing. I can understand my doctor " preaching " . It's his obligation to do that and I'd worry about him if he didn't. But, I probably won't quit and if I ever do, it will be my very own decision, and will never happen under pressure! If I were dying and it would make me live a few days longer to quit - well, guess what I'd do? There are a lot of things I don't do that the " good " people in the world do. I am never cruel, insulting, thoughtless or unkind to anyone, at least knowingly. I respect the right to dignity that we all should have. But now I'm ranting. Several people in this group have ways of controlling the itching, but that itch that comes from inside, I'm afraid, can't be controlled with lotions or creams. The source has to be treated or eliminated. Rashes, however, do seem to respond to topical treatment. You might ask your doctor about Claritan? I wonder if it helps with itching? Or is it only for allergies? Hope you feel better and the itching doesn't drive you up the wall. Take care, Geri

Guest guest
Re: My Court Case - An Update The attorneys for the college want a second deposition from me and my friend who have brought suit concerning stachybotrys contamination. Our attorneys are claiming that we should only be deposed for what has happened since the previous deposition last March. This case has been pending since 1997. We are due to go to trial at the end of July. At a mediation conference in January, we could not reach agreement. While I can't go into details because of confidentiality, it seems evident that the college views our case as a paltry annoyance, something like a little gnat buzzing around, a tempest in a teapot. Since this is a state college, we are only able to sue to a cap of $100,000. Even if we win, monetary damages will not be sufficient to change the attitudes of college officials concerning building maintenance. It took three years of continual complaints and the clout of a university environmental specialist to get the college to call in an air quality expert. During those three years and seven previous years, unbeknownst to me, I was working in a small office that had stachybotrys, aspergillius, and assorted other substances growing more than halfway up the sides of two outside walls. There was a wallpaper tear with " black stuff " peeking out just twelve inches from my computer chair. Ants and termites visited my office, too. When finally sampled, the level of stachy was found to be 35 million cfu/gm. An airborne sample was not taken. I realize there is expert disagreement concerning the validity of airborne sampling but still question why this step was omitted. This air-tight, brick building was quite beautiful (built in 1986) when I began working there in 1987. A forensic architect stated in 1997 that flashing had been incorrectly installed on the roof, allowing rain to seep down behind bricks and form moisture pockets. In Florida, things are always pretty humid, anyhow, and the wallpaper on my office walls was a thick cellulose type: all in all, a perfect breeding ground for a toxic fungus called stachybotrys. The air conditioning units were shut down on weekends by the college to save energy, and the opening of windows was discouraged during the week. Stachy was also found to be growing on one of the AC system outtake pipes for the office suite. I left this sick building almost two years ago. People who are still working there continue to experience problems even though bleach remediation was completed on an emergency basis in 1996 and ongoing air sampling is being done. As for me, I'll never be the same. I'm just trying to stay one step ahead of the doctors. There are no winners here. Joanne F.

Guest guest
Hello-- The below reminds me of a momentary experience I had around 20-25 years ago. I had been doing a form of Transcendental Meditation, derived from a book, for several months, and decided to hook myself up to a Radio Shack GSR meter, which made a siren sound, higher meaning greater conductance, lower meaning less. I had already learned to reduce the sound to a growl, then a series of clicks, and then to turn it off, just by thinking of a lower sound. I strapped the Velcro attachment to my finger, and began to meditate. After a very short time, I suddenly saw what I can only describe as " the most brilliant flash of black I can imagine. " At the same time, the GSR meter went up to a high-pitched squeal. This lasted about 1 second. I assumed the squealing meant either that a burst of perspiration had exited my finger, or that a burst of electricity from my brain had reached my finger. Since that time, I have tried to make it happen again, without success. I have always wondered what happened, and whether there could possibly be anything beneficial in being able to reproduce it, or to know what it was. Thanks, Gene ***** From: Dr, Rocatti,M.D. Sent: 7/30/03 4:51:00 PM Subject: Re: Peak Alpha frequency I have been reviewing the mails about the issue: Peak Alpha Frecuecy (PAF). I had also revised many workshops on Meditation I have done the last 3 years, with 15 students each. The first day.Saturday. I used to hook up them in O1 O2, without feeed back just to observe. We did 10 meditation of 30 minutes every day (with breaks of 5 minutes between each Meditation) The second day, I used AVS form 12 hz to 8 hz sñowing down in 30 minutes. I asked the student to pay attention to the moment of the meditation when they feel Better and more warm and relaxed. The data I collected, reproduced and inverted U or Gauss Bell Shape, Where the 50% of the students ( as population does) falls under the 10.05 HZ of PAF. And the other where distributed Up and down the Alpha band. So, my question is that many had the PAF in 8.5 HZ and had neither the feeling nor the life of a person who has a " energy drain or tired brain " and felt very good. Not only that, but looks very smart. Something that dont fits with the " High IQ " of people of Higher Alpha PAF. In the higher frecuency in the AVS part ot the entrainment, the lower PAF students DON´T FEEL GOOD. This was the same to the Higher PAF students. But inverse. THey feel good and warm in the High Frecuency Spectrrum of Alpha , and reject the lower band in the AVS part ot the entrainment. Well thats what I have seen. The last issue in that in the moment any of them produces the greatest spindles in uV or Bursts of Alpha (the Eagle Shape in Brain Mirror) (that is why I created the QDS, with the swithces. Originally to fallow this progressive increasing " Alpha Burst momentum " From Occipital to Frontal.) All moves to 10 HZ band to 10.05. So I saw they have a every day PAF and the " Special Moment in Meditation " PAF. The funny, well not funny, but interesting issue, was that there I had the student we called the " paranoid guy " . Remember the 12,05 Half Alpha and half Lobeta , in CSA a half light blue hill and the other side was green. In the TOP exactly joineed the 2 colors. He moved also to 10.05 HZ in " Alpha Burst momentum " From Occipital to Frontal.)
Guest guest
Hi-- I'm not Pete, but if you are displaying the filtered frequencies, and on the frequency drop down window click on " show frequency " you will find the frequencies displayed at the end of the wave display. For some reason delta and theta frequencies are not shown. Alpha tends to change slowly, such that you can read it. The higher frequencies flicker quickly on 1.9A, and seem to linger longer on 2.0. Hope that is helpful. Pete may have more to say with higher expertise. Meanwhile, if one does have the Stetzerizer meter, and finds that there are damaging high frequencies in the circuits of a building, one can logically presume that electric fields in that building will also contain the damaging frequencies. When Dave Stetzer checked our home with his $4,000 German meter that reads frequencies in the air, etc. the places he identified as dangerous were ones I had already found with a sensitive electric field meter. By sensitive, I mean able to read down to 3, 4 or 5 volts per meter. Not the Trifield, which even the more sensitive model of is not sensitive. If the needle of that even jiggles you have a field which can cause an ES person trouble. There are electric fields many places where there's no magnetic field at all, so a good electric field meter is very useful, whereas a Gauss meter is not. > > also wrote: > I find a lot of sources that can hinder electrosensibles. > Remarkably, I found strange signals on my telephone WITH cord, which we > normally label harmless. > Shivani replies: The high frequencies of electrical pollution that enter your house via the wiring, water pipes, etc. also travel on the phone lines. Guest guest
Hello Shivani, on my website there is *het bitje* October 2004. http://www.milieuziektes.nl/Pagina110.html At page 15, this meter, the HAARP or VLF Detector, is shortly described. It costs 440 Euro at www.priggen.com You wrote: There are electric fields many places where there's no magnetic field at > all, so a good electric field meter is very useful, whereas a Gauss meter is > not. I am sorry, but I do not agree. Everywhere when there is tension on the line, electrical fields exist. When the current is flowing, additional magnetic fields exist. In my opinion, magnetic fields are much more dangerous than electrical fields. Nevertheless, one should measure electrical fields, as well as magnetic fields. Mentioned are here the AC fields. Do not forget the DC fields, which can be also harmfull. And of course the electromagnetic fields, by which we mean the high frequency fields. Note, that the Stetzeriser meter as well as the HAARP Detector measure in a region, where the low frequency goes into the high frequency. Shivany, are you a writer of detective stories? Your last remark: > I had all these same problems. And our table was wood! But, all these > had electric fields that contained the damaging high frequencies.
