I totally agree with you. On my last visit my rheumy told me that he would

not prescribe a double dose of enbrel since the normal dose did not work. He

said there are worse people then I am and he just hospitalized a woman who has

swelling that doubled her knee size and red inflamation. He said that she

qualifies for that dose. Since I have no redness and I am not as swollen as she

was, he made light of my pain. It really erks me when he does this. I limp in

there with pain and he is insensitive. I wish he could feel this for a while

and have someone brush him off. I asked him what should I take and he kept

thinking about it until I suggested Humira. Then he said, " Oh, that is a

good idea. " Like who is the doctor here. We must take matters into our own

hands and fight for ourselves. If you have a gut feeling about something, then

pursue it.

-Hi Mel,

LOL!~....oh JUST pain huh? Sorry you had a rough appt. I

once had an OT ,who was helping me set up my apartment with adaptive

devices, tell me....You are really lucky. I have patients who don't

have ANY hands. I felt like saying....well...I guess their hands

don't hurt then. We can all find someone worse off than us but it

still doesn't minimize what we have to go through.

Hope things start looking up for you,

Marti

left. I keep going and getting stuck at the min. 4-6 times and end

up with no treatment, missing time off work, and hurting like hell!

I actually went armed today. I asked for another DMARD instead of

mtx... I was told no way because of the NASH until I had a biopsy

period. I then asked for pain meds, I was told no way because of the

NASH and until I had a biopsy. I then asked to go to the hospital

for my tx so maybe someone from careflight could do the IV... I was

told ok,you can do that, but if something happens, I am not

responsible. I guess they had 2 pts almost die because they had a

reaction and the hospital dicked around trying to get ahold of the

doc and they almost lost 'em. Well ok, if no one is supervising me

or being responsible for me I'm like Uhm, NO! I am scheduled to see

a surgeon Monday to have my gallbladder removed, I'm going to see if

the liver biopsy can be done at the same time, dunno we'll see. I'm

also haveing a heel scan to screen for osteoporosis. I am too young

to feel this damned old. THe thing that made me mad was she

darned skippy hon!!! If I don't fight for myself, no one else will... She

wouldn't give me the remicade, stuck me 7 times and no line- wouldn't give

me pain meds until I get a liver biopsy, and there aren't any other meds to

replace the mtx until the biopsy is done. She refuses to send me to the

hosp. to have done, she almost lost 2 patients while the hospital dicked

around trying to call the doc cuz they didn't know what to do. I lost it...

I told her to order me a scooter and get the damned process over with, I'll

file for disability and start planning for my own demise!! Was I being a

drama queen, well of course!!!!! I was mad. But sometimes that's how I

feel.
