I wonder if anyone has had any experiences with Dovobet.

How fast does it work? Have any teenagers used it? Why do creams have a low

compliance rate?

Please let me know as soon as possible. If at all possible before my appointment

on Wednesday 09:00 GMT

Hi Rob

I used Dovobet last year. It was fantastic. Cleared up skin in days, but

due to the nature of the cream you cannot use it for long and the flare

up afterwards was twice as bad. My hospital will not recommend it now

due to the after effects.

Hi

I used Dovobet on my arms and back. It started working within the

first couple of days and was clear within 2 weeks and I stopped using

it. The patches on my arms & legs (which had been there for a few

years!) have not returned and have had no after effects but I keep

the areas moisturised. The patches on my back cleared up at first

and then returned but better than they were. This is my own fault

though because of my PA I couldn't reach around to put the cream on

so that area didn't get the same attention as my arms & legs.

Hope this is of help.

Jackie

[Ed. Note: You might try using a long handled shower brush or back scratcher

(eg: http://snurl.com/1av1) with a small sponge or something attached to the end

to enable application of lotions to your back. Ron]

I have a cream called Dovenex. Is this the same thing. I'm in the U.S.

Where are you?

Hi

I am in Scotland. Dovenex is a different cream - its calcipotriol

only whereas Dovobet is a mix of calcipotriol and a potent

corticosteroid (betamethasone dipropionate (Diprosone)). It can only

be used for plaque psoriasis on less than 30% of the body surface and

can't be used on your scalp, face or places where there are folds of

skin. Its the only thing that really worked on my psoriasis but you

can only use it continuously for a limited time like all steroid

creams.
