It is commonly known that many rheumatologists don't recommend taking folic

acid on the day you take mtx, mine included, so in this case I don't think

it's really " medical advice by a lay person " , it's more just someone

passing on information that they know is commonly accepted by large

segments of the medical community.

Hey Gordon, good to hear from " down under " ? Do Aussie's ever refer to " up over "

for anyplace. Please just abide by little [very little] attempt at humor. Bye

now, Sylvia in Oklahoma

that is what I took it at, as " someone passing on information

that they know is commonly accepted by large segments of the medical

community " . The next day I did call my Rhumy to ask about the

information and he has heard this and some of his patients insist on

not taking it the same day as the mtx because they know of others

that don't take it. He didn't see a problem with not taking the

folic acid the same day as the mtx. He just said that " if I get

mouth sores, I know it didn't work for me " and to go back to what I

was doing. I tried it yesterday and so far so good, I don't feel

any different and no mouth sores (yet-I hope not).

So thanks again , I just never heard of this and my Rhumy said

he didn't mention it because he is just use to saying to take it

every day.
