Guest guest
hi kathy i think that is a great idea. Here's my med list...methotrexate, a prenatal vitamin and diclofenac for the pa, paxil and xanax for depression and anxiety, Ditropan for my bladder problems, Guifenesen and Claraton for allergies, Tylenol Arthritis or Hydrocodone for pain depending on its severity, Flexeral for muscle spasms, and Ambien for when I can't sleep. I've been on Vioxx the wonder drug, and Bextra in the past. Oh do have Nasaquart for allergies as well, and Dyproline cream for the psoriasis. I think that's all! Whew, I feel like a pharmacy! The only problems I've discovered is that you cannot take an anti-biotic and the mtx at the same time. You have to stop the mtx and when you are done with the anti biotic then start the mtx back up. Guest guest
Do you really have to stop MTX for an antibiotic? I was on antibiotics last month for a nasal infection... aka..the stuffy nose from hell. My doctor did NOT tell me to stop MTX. I definitely took them on the same night. Sweety pie or not, I'm feeling it might be time to find a new Primary Care Dr. > > hi kathy i think that is a great idea. Guest guest
hi mary, are you feeling better now that you've taken the anti-biotic? I never seemed to feel totally better if I had taken both that first time i didn't know about the mtx and anti biotics. i was really ticked b/c my gp forgot to tell me, but my rhumi did. i went to her a few weeks later and had to remind her. Ever since she has made sure to remind me about the anti biotics. I'd look for a doctor if I were you. Good luck Carla --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Guest guest
It might the WHICH antibiotics they put you on. My GP is fully aware of the MTX dosage my rheumy Rx'd, and she still prescribes antibiotics. I watched her check her pocket RX manual once while she decided which one to prescribe that would interfer least with MTX. I don't remember which one, but it was one of the new ones -- Levaquin or Omnicef or something that has the highest ($50) copay on my insurance. Ask your GP and your rheumy for more info next time. - ===== -------------------------- Stein www.noblefusion.com/astein If you're tired of fighting battles with yourself If you want to be somebody else Change your mind... -- Sister Hazel __________________________________________________
