Guest guest
Hi Fran, One of the ladies here has trigeminal neuralgia. It is a triangle of pain on the trigeminal nerve. Her whole head hurts from it. When she herxes it is worse. She went to Branson and is getting prolotherapy for it. she says it helps a lot. She has had that pain for 8 or more years. There was nothing wrong with her teeth. Connie, MI
Guest guest
I've seen many post lately on ear pain and was wondering if anyone has any numbness or tingling around the cheekbone area. I've seen my dentist, allergist, neurologist and ENT and no one can find anything. It comes and goes so I just put up with it. Any one else have this problem? Guest guest
I am awaiting my Lyme test results from Igenex. However, assuming that they are positive, I thought I'd respond. I, too, have horrible, horrible pain behind my left eye. It sometimes extends all the way to the back of my skull. Nothing but sleep relieves it, but - like you - I will get them several days in a row before getting any relief. Like every other one of my symptoms, it comes in waves. I would be interested to see what others say. > > I just wondered if anyone experienced face pain/headache. I've had a > terrible pain behind and around my left eye off and on for the last 4 > weeks. Guest guest
Hi Judy, I used to get a lot of pain as you have described and found that they were tied in with the barometric pressure (i.e. if the pressure has a sudden drop or increase) changes. Something showed on my MRI and after several months of re-reading my Lyme Log to my LLMD (showing headaches/pain that started several days before the weather changed) he reviewed my MRI. I use Flonase sparingly (i.e. one or two times a week) to help work on the sinus'... and so far its been helping. Other thing to be careful of is your diet... make sure that everything is logges so that you might see any patterns (i.e. sensitivies) that might develop. / Charolette :-) __________________________________________________
Guest guest
hi Judy, I do not (as yet) have a Dx. of lyme, altho I believe I have battled a tick disease for years and was re-infected last year. I have this same eye & face pain that you speak of along with what feels like electric shocks in my face/skull.....a couple of things that has been brought to my attention are trigeminal neuralgia & myasthenia gravis. some info here: http://www.tna-support.org http://www.myasthenia.org http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/myasthenia_gravis/detail_myasthenia_gravis.ht\ m I am told that the pain can also be caused by TMJ/TMD issues as well. I was Dx'd with TMD years ago and wear a mouth splint to help, but sometimes it makes it worse. http://www.tmj.org Hope this helps, Bonnie
Guest guest
I too had eye/head pain, sometimes for 11 or 14 days straight. I'd get 2-5 days off and it would start again. They got somewhat better after I.V. therapy, but I still get them pretty often (2-3 per week) and it's 6+ years after treatment. > > > > > I just wondered if anyone experienced face pain/headache. I sometimes get these weeks at a time also. The only thing that works is sleep but also migraine medicine. I take 10mg. Maxalt tablets but that sometimes doesn't even work . Hope that helped. shrry_rowe >

I suffered for YEARS as an adult with weird facial pain, stabbing pain behind the eyes and skull pain... my headaches, also along with all that, was VERY MUCH tied to the barometric pressure... I always said I was a barometer head.... could tell ahead when a storm or low pressure system was coming in... AND SINCE BEING TREATED for the lyme ALL THAT HAS STOPPED!!!! I also had terrible creaking of the neck and could not let the back of my head or neck get cold or stay wet, such as after swimming, drafts or after a shower etc... had to be dry and covered.... that too has stopped... I can swim or let my hair air dry for the first time ever.... no other explanation had to be lyme related... hope your lyme treatment helps all that for you also.... c in vt. Guest guest
For everyone with pain behind the eye and just above the eye, There is a trigger point at the base of the skull just behind the ear - there's a little divot that your finger fits nicely into. It's where the splenius capitus (a muscle that extends the neck) attaches to the mastoid process - part of the temporal bone. Press here, and in the area within half a finger's width of the divot, and see if the pain gets worse when you press on any spot. If it does, keep pressing on the hot spot until the pain stops, or at least diminishes greatly. Better still is if you can get someone else to press it while you lie quiety, allowing your neck to relax. Supplemeting magnesium, over time, may also help. --------------------------------- Everyone is raving about the all-new .
