Guest guest
Hi everyone, first thanks for all the previous advice. My wife is currently on Remicaid and just had a treatment last week, her Reumy told her that he gave her the max dose and if she still did not see improvement he would switch her to Enbrel. She is really down and worried that if the Remicaid doesn't work and switching to Enbrel doesn't work she will be out of options. So I have two questions: 1. Has anyone had any luck and gained any relief switching from Remicaid to Enbrel? 2. If for some reason the Enbrel doesn't work for her either (I know Remicaid and Enbrel are very similiar) is there anything else out there that she should be asking here doctor about? Thanks

I wanted to see if someone did not have success with Enbrel and did with Remidade. Janet
Guest guest
Hi , I sure hope that Enbrel works for your wife - it works for many people. If it doesn't work for her, however, there is an even newer medication than Enbrel that is proving to be quite effective. It is called Humira. Unlike Enbrel, which requires mixing before loading into the needle, Humira comes already mixed and in the needle. All you need do is use an alcohol wipe and inject. It couldn't be easier. Another advantage is that Humira is injected only once every two weeks as compared to Enbrel's twice a week. So, please don't despair! In addition, new treatments are being worked on every day and perhaps there is something out there that will work for your wife. I'm sure she appreciates your ongoing support and interest in her disease immensely. Best, Kathy F. 2. Guest guest
I did... was on remicade, insisted that enbrel was cheaper and I wouldn't miss as much work etc. and not only did I have a cardiac reaction to it, it didn't help, and I'm on round 1 of my new remicade cycle.. I feel a little better, but I am just now starting the mtx too
