Guest guest
Dear Annette, this is miserable. Luckily, I've only had it a couple of times. It's strange but I've used Neosporin and that helped as much as anything. The gel is sort of soothing and plus it helps with any infection of any kind. Hope this helps. Take care, Love, Fran [ ] Psoriasis in the nose? Hello Everybody, Do any of you get p in your nose. A Dr and an allergy specialist have both told me you cannot get it in the nose but I feel that what I get is psoriasis. If you do what do you find helpful for it. I find it hurts. My nose feels " thick " and blowing it doesn't help even though it's so irritable thats what I want to do. I'd be appreciative of any info, especially if there is info about medication or it's existence in the nose that I can tell my Dr about. Bye for now, Annette
Guest guest
I don't get it in the nose, but I do get it in my ear canals, which I believe is very similar to your nasal passages. Anyway, I find keeping them free of wax and applying very light amounts of dovonex once or twice a week helps me. Guest guest
I get it in my ear canals. The Ear guy said it isn't possible because it is different tissue. In reality they don't know. When I went on Enbrel the problem went away. I had sinus surgery years ago. In retrospect, I wonder how much of it was actually related to PA. [ ] Psoriasis in the nose? Guest guest
I actually had sinus surgery because they thought I might be having reactive arthritis because of a chronic undiagnosed infection. Being an old rock musician, I had other issues with my nose (deviated septum and the like). They repaired the structural problems but never found any underlying infection. I wonder how many people diagnosed as obscure allergies actually have P in the nose? Maybe when I start the Remicade, my sinuses will clear up, too. Thanks for the info, Ronnie. - ===== -------------------------- Stein www.noblefusion.com/astein

Looks to me as if psoriasis can affect any tissue, inside or out, but certain places such as scalp and elbows may be more commonly afflicted. Orin me too with the ear canal! and I've had it in the nose. I am so lucky with my derm...her response is usually...well the medical books say that PA can't happen in the nose or ears, but it appears that my patient's body says otherwise. For what it is worth, I have found neosporin (triple antibiotic generic) to work best in the nose...probably because it keeps things lubricated so they can heal...For my ear canals, I flush my ears with hydrogen peroxide (which is what they use in ear wax removal kits), which seems to help (with the added benefit of very clean ears:-)

Guest guest
I use Neosporin in my ears and my nose on occasion. I had an awful time with a sinus infection plus earache while traveling recently... probably not P related, but I felt MUCH better within 24 hours of swabbing the ear canal and nasal passages with Neosporin. I also get a dry scaly (scabby?) spot inside one nostril -- swabbing it with Neosporin helped tremendously! I'm not sure if it was the lubricating quality, or the antibiotic, or both. - ===== -------------------------- Stein www.noblefusion.com/astein If you're tired of fighting battles with yourself If you want to be somebody else Change your mind... -- Sister Hazel __________________________________________________
Guest guest
fyi - (sorry if I'm giving you info you already know) - my dermy told me that areas that you use Protopic on need to be protected from the sun as it (protopic + sun) increases the risk for cancer. (OK, I realize the wording on that is way awkward but that is the best I can do right now) take care, Beth Maureen Berry <moberry@...> wrote: At 11:45 PM 12/13/2004, you wrote: > My derm prescribed protopic for my ears and forehead.
