You'll take steroids when prescribed when it's a matter of life or

death. I just had a very large pituitary tumor (present for more than

10 years) removed. Prior to the steroids, I had NO cortisol in my body

and almost lost my life because they didn't know why. In 2005 I had

another tumor and part of my colon removed. I just now read the

pathology report: no other pathogens, but CLADOSPORIUM! I hope this is

the end of it.

My natural dr has me make a jacked up chicken broth - take an organic whole

chicken and put it in a pot with filtered water, 1 organic onion and an organic

carrot - put the lid on and cook for 12 hours WITH the lid on. It makes the

most intense broth and it helps you're adrenals. Drink as much as you can (with

or without the chicken meat in it) each day. Hope that helps.

Can you please explain how the steroids affected your cortisol levels??

Seperate :

Every case study I have read thus far with my condition was given steroids,

every single one of those cases the patient died shortly after the

treatment started.

God Bless !!

Here is what I have tried.

- Chinese herbs - licorice, siberian ginseng, corticeps, ginger root, etc.

it's best to take raw herbs and to cook them yourself. the problem is finding a

brand that doesn't have pesticides. mayway carries a line of preservative free

herbs, but you need to be a practitioner to order.

- apex energetics - adrenastim cream. may be an issue if you have sensitive

skin.

- reducing stress

- light exercise

- sufficient rest

Sounds delicious, but I do not understand how chicken would do anything for your

adrenals. What is the reasoning here?

I think we need to remember that not everyone is exposed in the same WDB and

just like some may tolerate some things with VOC's while other cant, some may

tolerate steroids while others cant.

your exposure does has everything to do with your condition now. it's just not

the same for everyone.

just like many didn't become allergic, so they say it has nothing to do with

this, that's wrong and I know it's wrong because I lived with it.

lets not be makeing such matter of fact statements about what one can tollerate

and what one cant, what one should use for treatment and one shouldn't.

we need to quit try to put everyone in the same box.

Adrenal cortex extract and hydrocortisone, both contain steroids and are

therefore contraindicated.

I should have mentioned that the bones/marrow/organs essentially disintegrate

into the broth - so you're getting a ton of vitamins and other essential

nutrients that impact the adrenals....

It it too bad that we are attacking each other about health care when the real

problem is that we don't get any health care form octors if we have them. Even

with insurance, I have to pay for nearly everything myself. If it isn't in the

AMA book it doesn't exist. I ws told that by a allergist, as he patt4ed the big

red book. Can't find it here, you are not sick.

So instead of attacking each other over often misinterpreted, misunderstood,

comments how about attacking the system that makes us feel this way?

And that is wherer Dr. Thrasher's point comes in about the government.

Open our eyes and stand up to the enemy, encourage our allies.

yes, it really doesn't matter what ins. you have theres doctors out there that

just refuse to deal with you or have anything to do with you. and it's not all

do to ignorance.

I was set up with a fallow up visit to a doctor after I went to the

hospital, with a severely swollen blocked tear duct.

I was told right there that he was takeing new patients, than I go see him and

he refuses to aknowledge that I was dealing with a blocked tear duct like the

hospital report said, right after I explained to him the eye problems I've had

sence being exposed in a home with water damage.

he told me it was a stye and told me he wasn't takeing any new patients. he was

outright rude. the felling was mutual that we go our seperate ways.

I've tried many things to get a doctors care, talking about my exposure, not

talking about it, which is basicly imposable to not at some point.

I figure now that neither one of us needs to waist the others time,

I'm upfront about what happened to me and they are usually upfront in one way or

another about weither they want to deal with me or not.

and truely I wouldn't want a doctor that doesn't get it. I wouldn't want just

any doctor to prescribe me antifungals or anything else that isnt up on this,

they could do more harm than good.

my learning to practice advoidance has been my lifesaver.

my listening to my body has been my lifesaver.

and even some doctors that didn't reconize my illness for what it was but gave

me pain killers to deal with my migraines have been lifesavers.

Thank you Meredith,

I have basically faced the same as you have. Very true that one Dr who is

not up to date on this illness can cause more harm than good. I wan no such a

Dr. All the ones I have seen have been like you said totally rude and ignorant

about it all. to the point of almost having killed me. My story much like

yours. I also agree that we are here to help each other. I try

to at least............

Exactly, I have written and written and called about this issue of no medical

care. I have also learned that we are not alone, many in this country even with

recognized diseases are going with out care. This is a big problem for all of

us. Us just worse because we cannot even be understood, listened to, accepted

due to the deceit. I don't know how anyone here can blindly believe that we

are all getting any kind of care.

God Bless !!

Often in a situation where we find ourselves in a medical crisis, we need to do

whatever it takes to keep us alive. Sometimes that means taking drugs that have

severe side effects. Once the medical crisis has been managed, then you can deal

with the side effect and try to get off the drugs as quickly as possible. If

you're in adrenal crisis, as far as doctors are concerned you either take HC or

die. As for the side effects of HC is an unfortunate reality and a risk that you

are faced with when you decide to take the drug.

I have seen some patients do very well with HC and others who couldn't tolerate

it at all. Some people took HC for about 2 years with no side effect and others

took it for a few days and it made them sicker. I don't know the reason why one

drug is a life-saver for one person, but a poison for another.

As for the issue regarding getting good medical care for those of us who have

been exposed to mold is a huge problem. Even if you have the best insurance that

money can buy, you're still going to be limited with your choices, because most

doctors know NOTHING about mold. If you are lucky enough to have a good

environmental doctor or any doctor who understands you and doesn't think you're

crazy, consider yourself really lucky. For everyone else who is struggling to

get the right medical attention, my sympathy is with you. However, the fact that

you know the cause of your condition and that you are part of this group is a

saving grace. I think that there are millions of very sick people that are

struggling with mold related problems, who have no idea why they are ill.

I started on the antifungal nasal spray and altough probably because it still

wasn't compounded right I had severe migraines, and couldn't hang in there, but

even the short amount of use I did get helped the polops in my sinuses, now I

just have to get it compounded somewhere else and try again. if I'm than sure

it's made right if I cant tolerate it still, I'll know that it's either dieoff

or some type of reaction to the treatment itself.

I'll also find out if I can tolerate it at any level.

I'm hopeing it just wasn't compounded right, which pisses me off because I went

through alot just to find somewhere that would compound it and when over the

instructions with them and sent them a copy.

Thank you Momoko,

What I was pointing out or trying to point out was the side effects in reference

to a person who has been exposed to a WDB as opposed to a person outside of

here. I only was trying to mention what Dr T had said here.

Many many have no care here. You are so correct about that. Many many others

do not know even what has made them ill. If you have care you should be

consulting someone who knows about this CIRS-WDB in addition to your other

consultants who are clueless to avert further damage to your system.

The patients you saw that improved were they also suffering from CIRS ??

God Bless !!

I can think of 3 people who I recently saw who had mold exposure and cortisol

insufficiency. None were tested for CIRS.

One patient responded well to HC, the 2nd did not respond well and it took her

months to wean herself off HC because each time she tried to lower the dose of

HC she would go into withdrawal. The 3rd did not take HC but treated symptoms

alternatively and recovered the most quickly, although I think she also had the

mildest exposure to mold.

Sorry, I can't offer you more information.
