Guest guest
Michele, Find anything he likes that he won't urp back up and isn't likely to cause him too much trouble, yogurt and applesauce, pear sauce, ice cream, pudding, all fruit jelly, etc, anything he likes well enough to take. A lot of kids who are metal toxic have sleep problems, have you tried Melatonin for sleep issues? Some wake up the first few times, but soon actually just take the chelators while they are asleep. He may get up the first few times but he'll soon get tired enough to just sleep right through. I've never heard of a child who didn't. We never had a lot of sleep issues, but we used Melatonin for it's great brain antioxidant value, it really helped her. The night doses are inconvenient, I'm not going to lie to you, but taking the chance of them getting more autistic is way worse and giving night doses is the only way to ensure this doesn't happen. We normally stayed up and gave the last dose at 12:00 AM, then only had to get up for the 4 AM dose, and then were usually up by 8 AM. Best part, she's not anorexic anymore, eats like any other normal child, says she's hungry and we never, ever thought that would happen, but it's nice, no more two hour meals with someone feeding her every single bite of food. I'd get up at night anytime to have that nightmare over. Good luck, [ ] Re: Chelating a 2yo with ALA How did you do that? Mine won't take anything, unless in food he likes, & there's very little foods he can eat that are " mushy " . He's highly intolerant of most foods & won't eat mush foods except his goat milk yogurt (once/day), & some applesauce (once/day; he has loose stools). I also don't want him waking up at night. Our 13yo goes back to sleep but he won't. Thanks, Michele > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: hugs_may99 > > > Anyone chelate someone as young as 2yrs with just ALA? To dose Ala every 8 hours is asking for redistribution symptoms and worsening of autistic symptoms that may not be apparent for several rounds. So dose according to the half-life of Ala or until you figure out some way to get him to take something more frequently, don't risk it. > > Ours was completely anorexic but we figured out a way to dose frequently and if you're motivated you probably will be able to also. > > Good luck, > > > > Thanks, Michele > > > > > >
