Guest guest
If anyone out there has had to deal with their school closing out service too soon and getting them reinstated, please email me. My son was supposed to get a year of OT for his fine motor. He got less than 9 months and they said he didn't need it. We thought they were right. He started Kindergarten and he is having a heck of a time. He definitely needs it. He also needs help for his sensory and auditory problems which were revealed in their original eval, but never addressed. He received no therapy for those. His teacher wanted to request his services be reinstated, but she is told she can't until it has been one year from discontinue. That would be March. He is struggling and not functioning well. It is too long to wait. What can we do, or what have others done to get services back. The teacher is going to ask the therapist for suggestions and see what type of auditory testing they do. She said, maybe we could get him reopened based on this " new issue " , and get therapy for whatever he needed. There are two OT's that work in his room for a few other kids in his class. They say he needs help, and have been helping him as best they can, eventhough they are not assigned too. I appreciate any advice from those that have battled this before. As always...thank you all for everything!
