Guest guest
, Thanks for your input. I have been wondering about this pee thing for a while now and have done some research as well. Protein is definitely a problem, but she doesn't eat much food. She is on a hypoallergenic formula. Leo
Guest guest
Supplements can be hard on your stomachs. Always listen to your instincts. I give supplements 3 or more times a day so I am not giving it all at once. Remember to start supplements one at a time so you may be able to pin down what exactely is causing the problem. My child gets rashes when she doesn't tolerate something. Guest guest
Leo, I haven't researched the protein connection yet..just noticing this lately & thinking that I have probably seen some references to it elsewhere/when, that I don't currently " remember, " that have contributed to noticing this one. If you do find, or have found, some truly helpful info or sites, I would be very interested in seeing them... thanks wishing you the best elizabeth > > , > > Thanks for your input. > > I have been wondering about this pee thing for a while now and have done > some research as well. Guest guest
My daughter's high ammonia is under control with alpha ketoglutaric acid. She gets one capsule a day. Even if your DD is not eating alot of protein, she can still have a problem with her urea cycle and unable to get rid of nitrogen. AKA is an easy thing to try and relatively inexpensive. Guest guest
Wyndie, thank you. At the very least, this gives me a really good place to start. If you know of any cautions involved with this supp, that would be appreciated. In the meantime, I do believe I will be starting an info slam. ...I know I have looked into urea cycle / nitrogen info before & got rather overwhelmed by the possibilities And we had more urgent issues, so it got put on the " later " list. This helps much. thanks again wishing you the best elizabeth > > My daughter's high ammonia is under control with alpha ketoglutaric > acid. Guest guest
Thanks Wyndie, I have been given her an amino acid blend, but I think I will give AKA a try by itself at a higher dose. Leo

Lower the doses and give several times per day. Be sure to give the CoQ10 with fats. Some of the mito supplements do tend to cause phenol issues, so you can try giving them with No-Fenol enzyme, see if that helps. > I was thinking on cutting down to just the most needed (selenium, carnitine, > taurine, CoQ10, flax oil etc) but the other supplements need the B vitamins > and the other minerals for better absorption. Try dropping the selenium, and/or move from flax to fish. Dana
