Whoa~! And they have links up for stopping " intellectual property

theft " yet someone is posting the daily digests from here to their

site. What is that all about? It must be someone here who is subscribe

to the daily digests who is posting it from what I could gather looking

at it. Whoever you are, I'm not impressed.

Yea, I don't like this. I've also noticed before that sometimes

various different posts from this group show up in google searches.

Like if you do a google search on your own name, one of your posts to

this group may show up. I don't know what, if anything can be done

about it.

Technically, anything we put on this site is publically available

and therefore has no intellectual property value. So it's not theft

to take it.

However, it is very rude to take our posts and publish them

elsewhere without at least informing the person who wrote them.

This is not correct. Rights to anything posted here are retained by the poster.

Reposting

it elsewhere is copyright violation, and is actionable.

It is also very rude and indicates a lack of both decency and morality to do it

without

permission.

What one CAN legitimately do is post a URL to the original comment, here, on the

list.

THAT is legitimate.

If you want this to stop, send them email demanding they stop violating your

copyright,

and if they don't do it, then contact their web host's copyright department

(this is usually

easy to find) and complain to them.

I think you're wrong there. There are no copyright notices on this

site and it's publically accessed. The main page says that statements

made here are for " information purposes only " . If you make a statement

on a non-copyrighted public forum with the purpose of sharing

information, then it's not legally wrong for someone to take that info

and use it. IMHO, it's free to share from a legal point of view.

I certainly didn't sign any non-disclosure agreements before joining.

No argument there. It's morally wrong, if not legally.
