Guest guest
We have been chelating our 3.5 year old son for the past three weeks on AC protocol. We're giving both DMSA and ALA. Just wanted to give an update and seek any feedback from you guys. We have not seen any improvement in him but on the positive side, we have not seen any regression and have not seen any side effects. We're going to start the fourth round of chelation starting tomorrow. We're on the 3 days on and 4 days off schedule. My question is, after how many chelation cycles do you start seeing any improvement? Since my son has mild autism - he is overall healthy - but has little or no speech and does not respond to his name and follow directions. When should I start seeing that he is picking on new words and starting to respond? Thank you, -TS
Guest guest
We're not that far ahead of you...just about to start round 10. Honestly, I thought we'd see way bigger gains, but I've heard many people talk about not seeing any until round 12 or so. The one thing I have learned is that my son does have gains, just subtly and not in the areas I was expecting. For instance, he didn't start talking but we went to teach him how to ride his bike and he got right on and pedaled like he was a pro. This is the same kid who had a trycicle for years and could never figure out how to pedal!! I've seen gains in areas like fine motor skills and we are now up to 10 words which I contribute to doing chelation and viral therapy. I guess some of our kids just get better at different rates, so hang in there and make sure yeast issues aren't masking gains. Guest guest
Maggie; Thank you for your response. I know I'm on the right path and with a little patience, this groups guidance and lots of prayers will help us recover our child, Amen! You said, you are doing viral therapy... are you doing it along side chelation, when did you start the viral therapy? At what stage should I consider using the Anti-viral? Can you name what anti-viral you're using. Many thanks, -TS > We have been chelating our 3.5 year old son for the past three weeks on AC protocol. We're > giving both DMSA and ALA. Guest guest
my son was having incredible perseverance issues that seemed to get worse with chelation. I asked some experienced parents and was told that it was possible the chelation was exposing some viruses. My son does have symtoms of viral autism (such as behaving better while sick, only 1 fever in his entire life, perseverance, and gaining words only to lose them again). I decided to do the 2 day high dose Vit A protocol that I read about on Dana's page right before round 9. it produced some pretty startling results. My son who never could say more than 2 words at any given time now says about 10 words and uses them throughout the day when prompted. He's even started saying " mommy " unprompted! I decided that since my son was doing fine on chelation and we had yeast reasonably under control that I would try Virastop. You can read about it on http://www.enzymestuff.com/conditionviruses.htm. We've only been doing the Virastop for a week and a half so I can't tell you much . Also, my son seems to be able to tolerate most treatments really well with no negative reactions so I am being really aggressive. I don't know how your kiddo is with yeast or other issues, but I can tell you the viral therapy really kicks the yeast in high gear. I feel like chelation and anti-viral therapy seem to go hand in hand with my kiddo. Hope this helps! Maggie Rhapsodist1 <tanveers@...> wrote: Maggie; Thank you for your response. I used ALA. >> Since > my son has mild autism - he is overall healthy - but has little or no speech and does not > respond to his name and follow directions. What my son needed for language is written here http://www.danasview.net/issues.htm Dana
