Guest guest
I don't have activated charcoal, but he is now sleeping after all I gave him. I hate given him Tenex. I am not going to give him the diflucan in the morning. But I am just afraid to what I am going to wake up to........ He just might wake up and continue where he lift off. And not want to go to school. I don't have any more of the Nystatin, But I can get it refilled tomorrow. What does the Charcoal do and where can I get it from? Thank you Janis </HTML>
Guest guest
Do not give any more of the diflucan! He's obviously getting a strong reaction from it. Call your DAN! and see what other options there is. Do you have any activated charcoal in the house? Maybe giving him some can help calm him right now.... M iVORYOURS@... wrote: My son was taking all his sup. /vitamins Gaba, Calcium, Fish oil borage oil, Omega3 caps, supra-nu-thera, Turine caps, ThreeLac, Melatonin and his Mb12 shots. He started flipping out/having a major melt down. So this Dan called in for my son to start taking Nystatin 1 teaspoonfuls 2 times a day. I notice that when I give him the first dose in the am, by the afternoon he was on the edge, so I tried to give him a half a teaspoonful at noon, and that seemed to help. I would give him his last dose , 1 teaspoonful at 7:30pm. My issue is we just went to his Dan follow-up where he received the result of his test that said, he has elevated yeast/fungals metabolites, indicating a yeast/fungal overgrowth of the gastrointestinal tract. So his Dan had me get a prescription for (Diflucan)Fluconazole 100 mg tablets 1 time a day. I gave him his first dose this am. He seemed pretty good all day, until 6:30pm. I had a sales rep. that stooped by to give a quote on some new windows. My son did come out of his room when he was here and kept saying by to him. But than he would go back into his room. But out of no where he started flipping out BIG TIME! Yelling, Screaming, I had to tell the sales rep to leave. But he just got a lot worst even after the Sales guy left. He started coming after me and pushing, and grabbing at my clothes. I asked him if he wanted to take a shower, he would flip-out some more. He would get his towel and under clothes and turn the shower on get naked.......and then flip out and start Yelling and turn the water off and go back to his room, and then come out and start all over again....... my husband, my daughter and myself all tried to calm him down and not a thing was working. He was attacking everyone, this melt down if you want to call it that, lasted until 9:15pm. I had to put my 2 year old in his high chair with the gate up, and trying to keep him from making a peep, because my son will go after him and try to pull his arm off. I had to give him 3 1/2 mg of tenex(Guanfacine-HCL) and his Gaba, Taurine and Melatonin to get him to calm down enough to shower and eat and go lay down, which took him almost an hour. I don't know if it was the new prescription (Diflucan) or both the prescription and the sales guy. Someone please help.... It is getting hard to live like this. My husband works two jobs, and his is not getting any sleep! My 2 year old cannot be a two year old, I work from home and is hard to work when I have to keep my big 15 year old away from my 2 year old. Please any information will be helpful! Guest guest
In a previous post you said that your son is 15 years old and weighs 135 lbs. I would talk to the pharmacist about whether your son is getting the appropriate dose of Diflucan. Last year, when my son was 5 years old and weighed less than 50 lbs., he was prescribed 100 mg EVERY 24 HOURS -- the same as your son. My husband, who is around 200 lbs., was prescribed Diflucan 100 mg EVERY 12 HOURS. You mentioned that your son was fine until early evening ... I'm guessing about 12 hours after the first dose. Could it be that he went ballistic because he needed another dose at that time? JUST BRAINSTORMING. I'm no medical expert, just a parent drinking my morning coffee. Best of luck to you. -Ann > > > So his Dan had me get a > prescription for (Diflucan)Fluconazole 100 mg tablets 1 time a day. I gave > him his first dose this am. Guest guest
He woke up looking like he had a hang over. I kept him out of school, he did not want to go, and now you have to walk on eggshells around him. I had to have my daughter stay out of school to pick up my little guy. she just left.. I am waiting for the Dan doc to call me back. Janis </HTML>
Guest guest
Hi Janis, How was this morning? You can get the charcoal from any health food store and I believe some of the chain pharmacies carry it. iVORYOURS@... wrote: I don't have activated charcoal, but he is now sleeping after all I gave him. Guest guest
Any reason not to try natural antifungals so that you can control the dosing and the minimize the die off reaction? Diflucan creates a huge die off. Man, I am so sorry this all happen to you..I hope you find another option that works better. > > > My son was taking all his sup. /vitamins Gaba, Calcium, Fish oil borage oil, > Omega3 caps, supra-nu-thera, Turine caps, ThreeLac, Melatonin and his Mb12 > shots.
