My 2yo had an allergic reaction today. Background is he's been sick

for a week now; started off as cold went into chest, respitory

distress, ER, steroids, xopenex neb treatments... until Mon. Then

his usual vits & supps.

Today he woke up with breathing a little labored but not terrible.

Enough to catch in time with a neb treatment & he seemed better. Ate

a normal breakfast.

His usual supps were given - two new ones to him this week are

Candex (gave an extra zinc this morning & a little more C the past 2

days; no more then 250). Today brand new was Biotin.

Got a little sick after bk & threw up very little. Not wanting to

eat anything. Drinking a little water.

By lunchtime doesn't want anything to eat.

After lunch I notice his breathing becoming labored again - plus

he's breaking out in hives all over him. They look like welts & are

somewhat itchy but not driving him crazy at all. In fact he's

otherwise acting pretty normal. His diaper had just been changed but

it really stank (no poo; just pee).

I gave him another xopenex treatment & some activated charcoal in

water which he drank most of. We don't have any Benedryl on hand & I

can't get out at the moment. Will be pushing the charcoal all day.

He's settling & seems better. Hives not getting any worse; might be

starting to improve. Put some natural creams on him to soothe.

Could this have been the biotin since it was brand new today?

Everyone is having the Candex too for the past 3 days with nothing.

I doubt it could have been the zince... he usually gets the topical.

Anyone else experience this with biotin or candex?

Thanks in advance,

Michele
