Guest guest
My son has had a cough and stuffy nose for the last week. At first we thought it might be a cold, but it's been so many days. We've been chelating 3 days on/4 off for the last 9 rounds, but since he was sick, we skipped the last week. His behavior has worsened, old stims coming back, eye contact worse, compliance worse, more dazed, giggling, etc. Since we added ALA to DMSA the last 3 rounds (8 mg/34 lbs), I'm wondering if it is the somewhat expected bad initial reaction to ALA? In the last two weeks, I've started giving him 500 mg lysine a day, plus 1000 mg vitamin C for viruses, and I'm wondering if his persistent cough or flu like symptoms could be viral die off? Of course, all of this could be stirring up his yeast too... but we give GSE, biotin, Nystatin, probiotics and coconut kefir, and up until the last week, it seemed like the yeast was under control. He is having regular bowel movements every day, except he was constipated for two days last week, and I had to give him 300mg magnesium to get him to poop. Was the constipation a sign of something? Just really confused and somewhat discouraged, as he was doing relatively well on chelation on and off rounds, except for what is happening now. Not really sure what to do or change in order to get him back on track... Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.
