Guest guest
Hi Francine, I would love this info too,I have a very hyper 10 year old that nothing has helped! I tried to email you privately to ask for this but my email was being difficult and it wouldn't go through. If you wouldn't mind sharing my email is dloychik@... Thanks so much! Guest guest
Hi I have a 9 year old who does all these things and more..swears and wants us to copy him and picks out of us and waits to see what we are going to do with a big cheesy grin on his face. He loves taking showers at the moment. and deep pressure on his chin. He is 'biting' for pressure, toys, remote control, the bone of my wrist ... then he settles away down for another few months and then it starts all over again. This has been the pattern for a while. I do think probiotics anti fungals help but they are not healing this problem..... I would like to read the the article please.. Guest guest
>>and deep pressure on his chin. At my house, this was related to yeast overgrowth and folic acid deficiency. Others have written in the past that zinc helped. Dana

Guest guest
With my first son, the deep pressure seeking was related to phenol/artificials intolerance. It completely went away when we went low phenol and used no-fenol enzyme. Son #2 doesn't push bodyparts into us/furniture, but he is constantly touching himself and us (touches his hair, face, leans into us and pokes us). Unfortunately we haven't discovered the key to stopping this for him. Going low phenol/no artificials with him didn't stop the behavior (it did, however, completely stop chronic bed-wetting). Guest guest
My son's hyperactivity went down on a low phenol diet and No Phenol Enzymes as well. Dana has great info. on her site regarding this issue. I think the key for us was understanding the biochemical pathways with PST. I suggest when you start, completely try and elminate medium and high phenol foods (list online). Then, with every meal/snack give the No Phenol Enzymes. You're basically trying to unload a " backed up " pathway so to speak. Epsom salt baths every night is important also for the sulfur pathway. Once you start to see a substantial decrease in hyperactivity, we started adding some high phenol foods back in his diet with the no phenol enymes. Also, note bananas are high in amines which mimick phenols. On the Enzymes Group, there is a great paper in the files for phenols and how to get the PST enzyme and sulfur pathway working again. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll try to locate it and email it to you. One other possibility to look at is yeast. Yeast causes hyperactive behavior for our child, so you kind of have to do your own detective work and keep a food diary. Once the hyper behavior starts in again, take a look at the foods and see if there's a pattern. > > > > > & gt; > > > > > & gt; Dear Pamela, > > > > > & gt; > > > > > & gt; Interestingly, Ted, on the Biological Terrain > > > > list, just > > > > posted > > > > > something on > > > > > & gt; hyperactivity, aggression, etc. saying it was > > > > an 'acid brain' > > > > (as > > > > > in acid > > > > > & gt; vs. alkaline). Guest guest
I had to put my daughter on SARA's diet. She did not respond to GF/CF or SCD but SARA's diet saved her life. SARA's diet takes out all the lutiens in food. Anything with color is forbidden not even natural colors. I thought I was being a great mom feeding my daughter black beans, pumpkin, blueberries, strawberries, mango, eggs, chicken broth etc. after 2 days on the diet she let me touch her at age 3.5. At the 1/2 life of the lutiens on day 45 she wanted to use the toilet. The diet completely, absolutely was the best intervention and changed her life. > > > > > & gt; > > > > > & gt; Dear Pamela, > > > > > & gt; > > > > > & gt; Interestingly, Ted, on the Biological Terrain > > > > list, just > > > > posted > > > > > something on > > > > > & gt; hyperactivity, aggression, etc. saying it was > > > > an 'acid brain' > > > > (as > > > > > in acid > > > > > & gt; vs. alkaline). I was able to correct my son's carotene conversion problem with ALA chelation, selenium, zinc, and vitamin C. Then, once his body was corrected, I had to supplement lutein/carotene for several months. Dana
Guest guest
There is a list of safe-foods, most of which comes from Andy, in the Frequent Dose Chelation files section. This includes foods that are low in cysteine, phenols and salicylates.
