Guest guest
, Before starting LDN (2 years ago) I was apprehensive about the vivid dreams everyone talked about. After starting LDN, my dreams were "normal" dreams, the same kind of dreams I had before my ms symptoms started. Personally, I think the issue with the dreams is that people don't have "normal" dreams when they're sick, so when the LDN kicks in and begins to help them heal, they begin to have "normal" dreams again. They seem "vivid" compared to the little bits and pieces of dreams, or the lack of dreams altogether, they had before they began healing again. Just my personal opinion Don't worry about the dreams. Guest guest
Hi , I ordered my LDN from Skips too. I am having sleep disturbances. My dreams are not that bad. I had one really bad one where my cousin died. That particular dream had me in tears. I cried for about 5 minutes, and then I went back to sleep. I have had others but as not as bad. I started LDN Aug 9. My symptoms started improving then they started to decrease. That is what had me so bothered. But someone told me in the group today that sometimes with MS you go backwards then you start to feel better. I am currently on 3 mg of LDN at this time. The doctor that prescribed it to me, started me on 1.5 mg, then every 3 weeks I increase 1.5 mg until I get to the full dose. I hope this helps, . Guest guest
Thank you a. Both my Gastro and Skip said I should go with the 4.5 MG due to my size at 6’1” and 196 lbs. All I know is that what I have been taking for two months I noticed absolutely nothing. I really hope Skip is right. I also heard that there is a slow release LDN and that it does not work. Possibly my previous pharmacist was using that. I don’t know. Just excited to start today! On 9/2/08 5:21 PM, " a Nettles " <paulnet78@...> wrote: Hi , I ordered my LDN from Skips too. Guest guest
Hi Please remember that YOU are in charge of your body, not your gastro! If he chooses to not prescribe LDN anymore of course thats up to him but it`s up to you if you want to continue it or not! There are other means of getting LDN or you could maybe find a doctor that is concerned about you and the things you want to do, and listen to your preferences. They are supposed to work with you in an ideal world. I dont think LDN will cure anything so he might have a long wait but it can certainly help and any inprovement with any disease is wonderful. Good luck! Guest guest
Hi , I posted earlier of my first night. It was not bad at all. There were very vivid dreams unlike my first two months on what I am guessing was inferior or badly mixed product. However the dreams I had last night were very real but they were not terrible in nature and like you say, " I enjoyed them. " Thanks for your comments. Guest guest
What I meant was that I don't think the subconcious is going to run amock because we're taking LDN. Listing vivid dreams as a side effect doesn't mean we'll have nightmarish or night terror type dreams. At least I hope not. I think the issues people are worried about is if they'll do or react to these dreams in ways they normally wouldn't or have such vivid/strange dreams that they'd do something dangerous in that dream state.. Wouldn't altering brain wave patterns be considered a pretty severe side effect, especially if it causes us to think or dream things we wouldn't normally think or do? Not a doctor or even close but I thought LDN is about the immune system not altering brain wave patterns. I did ask my doc about this subject and she said that there were no worries as far as brain or chemical issues....depression, etc. Any medical people have any info on this? Guest guest
again I will say this. the systems in your body all affect each other. I love those LDN dreams-that means your sleeping. sleeping is one of the most important thing you can do for your body. It really is. sleeping is the most important thing we do for our mental health. anyone here used a nicotene patch-now those are vivid! yikes do we see warnings about this. no not at all. You are creating a healthier brain pattern. nothing wrong with that. Guest guest
The paperwork that came with my Skip’s LDN said sleep disturbances, anxiety, insomnia, lethargy or suicidal ideation are possible side effects but that they are minimal. They listed other possible side effects as well but none played to our emotional well being. When I mentioned the drug the other day to my girlfriend who is an RN the first thing she mentioned is depression and/or anxiety. I feel fine so far. Now where is that darn butcher knife?!! Just kiddin’ Interesting thread. On 9/3/08 7:25 PM, " Cyndi Lenz " <psychrn@...> wrote: again I will say this. the systems in your body all affect each other. You are creating a healthier brain pattern. nothing wrong with that. (I'm learning all about biofeedback this week so I'll get back to you on that) for myself ldn has been better than ANY antidepressant I could take.I feel better and I have no side effects. Guest guest
LOL I agree. I'm off antidepressants and my emotional health is better than it has been in a long, long time. Part of it could very well be that this is the first time I've had hope for something to actually help instead of knocking the crud out of me. I guess as long as I feel better it's worth any small risks. I took 3 of the CRAB drugs for years and survived that so this is like heaven. Health and happiness to all!! Guest guest
Im into week #6 on LDN. I had vivid dreams for the first 2-3 weeks, and now they are gone. I thought I was the only one that liked them, so I didnt say anything LOL. But Im seeing there are others that like them too! I only remember one that made me wake up because I was crying (cant remember the scenario) and another which was my favorite....in that one I took my neighbor's sports car out for a spin without his permission, ran into my X and told him I was afraid to go back because we had gotten a dusting of snow and my neighbor would see the tire tracks when I tried to sneak it back in. Talk about details! I didnt know how to explain what I had done. I do remember feeling a bit stressed that Id get arrested LMAO. So look forward to trying LDN and maybe you will like your dreams like some of us... Sheila in NH <the systems in your body all affect each other. Guest guest
Hi, only 20 % of us gets sleep disturbances in one way or another. Some sleeps to much (I do) Some gets vivid dreams. Mine are sometimes scaring, but more often funny. Or interesting. Some can't sleep at night and may need melatonin or herbs to help themselves. Some wake up when the endorphines are at their peak - around 2 in the morning and feel wide awake for an hour or less. Some wake up later than that. I think (guess) that most of us sleep enough, anyway. I sleep more, heavier, dream more and am tired during the day, and need a nap every afternoon since started with ldn 1 year ago. But this could be due to the disease itself...or because I am getting older.....lol.-- Ingrid Re: [low dose naltrexone] Info on sleep disturbances please,On some people get sleep disturbances and mostly it's just vivid dreams. I had them for 2 or 3 nights when I started and wish they'd come back as I enjoyed them!! Hudson wrote:>> I¢m just concerned as I live by myself. Guest guest
I know that a few people have had some sleep disturbances, I don't think that they last long. I have never had any sleep issues at all and, I wouldn't let that keep you from at least trying LDN. > > > > I¢m just concerned as I live by myself. Guest guest
A friend just started her daughter on 3.5mg LDN for treating Crohn's, the pharmacist didn't prepare ramping up capsules, the child can't do the cream due to reactions to the base inredients and the capsules have some sort of oily substance w them making splitting by the mom impossible w/o thowing 1/2 away. She didn't want to waste the capsules so she decided to just start at full dose. The child was wired at midnight last night. I remember people saying this is more likely when you don't do a slow ramp up. How long is the sleep disturbance likely to last? I'm guessing as soon as the adjustment happens this issue will go away but I'm not sure if that means a week or a month... Thanks for any input. near LAX On 9/14/08, Gunn Dybfest <gunn.ingrid@...> wrote: > Hi, > only 20 % of us gets sleep disturbances in one way or another. > Some sleeps to much (I do) > Some gets vivid dreams.
