Different Roads to Learning sell a wrist watch that vibrates.

[ ] waking in the night logistics

I am wondering how you all wake yourselves up in the middle of the

night to dose yourselves or your children. Is there a vibrating

alarm on a wrist watch that you can set to go off every x hours? I

don't want to reset my alarm each time--and I don't want to wake the

other sleepers in the bed anyhow.

Thanks for any suggestions,

Nita

I bought a kitchen timer and set it for 3 hours every time I woke up to

dose. It isn't hard; easier than resetting the clock. My husband

sleeps like the dead (he thought our kids slept through the night from

the day they were born!), so I don't need to pay attention to the noise

factor. The beeping from the timer is pretty quiet.

The first round was rough. After that, it became so routine. I

actually started falling back asleep pretty quick.

If it is really a big issue to not wake your spouse, then sleep in

another room on the nights you chelate. I know that isn't always

possible or desirable; but it might keep the peace, so to speak.

As Pam said, a kitchen timer is the best. I have it set for every three

hours and it goes with us everywhere on the “on” days. I also can’t rely

on my husband. Wouldn’t wake up if a bomb went off in the house. We have

been doing 60 rounds approximately and those are the nights I sleep with my

son. It has become second nature once you get used to it.

Nita,

If you have a cell phone alarm, it works great as you can do it every

three hours and set the volume. Mine gives me a 5-15 minute notice

option so I can prepare, if needed.

Just an idea. I like the timer idea too.
