Hi Dana,

Our DAN just recommended both my boys do monthly

bicillin injections with weekly zithromax for PANDAS.

I've read that bicillin injections are painful - is

this an effective treatment? I don't want my boys to

get terrified of shots unless its really worth it.

is it ok to do the OLE at the same time? How do you

know the strep is gone, is there a test you are

looking at? Thanks,

I don't know, I have never used it.

Zithromax was ineffective for my #4's strep. OLE was wonderful.

I don't know of any reason not to.

I am not Dana, but my children have done bicillin injections. They are

extreamely painful. The needle is large enough to see the hole where

the cream comes out. After 3 monthly injections my sons symptoms had

gone away (this was Feb 07). Last month we started zythromax on both

my son and daughter for PANDAS. This strep is really kicking our

butt. I am glad that OLE was mentioned, we had stopped using it around

Nov 06. I think it is time to start again.
