Hi Pam,

I wanted to ask you if its appropriate to raise the dose on the 2nd round of

chelation or should you stay at the same dose for a few rounds?

I am gave my 29 lb son 3.5 mg per dose. My husband thinks it was to low but I

was scared to go higher.

Natalia,

Before you decide to go for the 8 hour schedule, consider raising the

dose of DMSA on your current 4 hour schedule; 6 mg is a very low

dose. Try increasing it to 8 mgs the next round and 10 mgs the

following round... up to a potential 18-20 mgs per dose. Maybe you

will see changes on a higher dose?

I'm sure others are telling you about the reason why DMSA every 8

hours isn't the best plan, so I'll stick with my above recommendation.

IF you do decide to dose every 8 hours, generally those who do so

(with DAN! doctor's advice) also use a higher dose of chelator. Not

always, but generally; as much as 10-20 times what you are currently

giving. It varies widely.

Take care,

Pam

are currently doing every 4 hours DMSA (about 6mcg), my son is 36

lb.,don't see very much changes or pulls. Would it be the same

dosing for 8 hours protocol?

Yes, divide them. Using 1/8-1/2 mg per pound. Usually starting at

1/8mg to see how things go. Some people increase later on. I have

not done that though as the original amount we started with for my

40 pound son was 12.5mg and that has continued to work well.

It may be hard to divide down to 10mg but see what you can do.

The smallest quantity you can get is 25mg capsules from www.vrp.com

I have no problem with raising the dose on the 2nd round, but I've

been told to raise it in small increments. So, don't double the dose

next time to 7 mgs, but perhaps a more conservative 5 mgs.

If you saw neither good or bad reactions to the 3.5 mg dose, it is

pretty safe to say he'll be OK on the 5 mgs. I'm making the

assumption that is this oral DMSA we are talking about.

Take care,

Pam

Not Pam here, but assuming your son handled the very low dose fine,

you can up it for the second round.

Thanks Pam and Anne.

I think raising the dose to 5mg is reasonable.

Here's a post from an adult who decided to skip the night doses.

http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1007420#i

Note that he didn't notice any problems for about 2 months, and then

the problems that developed were fairly serious (heart rate increases,

what he calls bipolar tendencies).

There is a review of " Amalgam Illness " on Amazon.com where the

reviewer mentioned that he developed MS like symptoms from chelating

with ALA every 8 h and was able to reverse the problems by chelating

with ALA every 3 h. (I would have to search for the post to confirm

the details, but anyone interested can find amazon.com).

I have found other posts from adults who have skipped the night doses

until they developed serious problems. When I come across some more

I'll post them.

Do you mean mg or mcg? How would dosing less frequently help? How long have

you been chelating on the 4 hr schedule? Did his hair test meet counting rules?

What are you trying to chelate? Lead takes a looooong time. DMSA chelates only

the mercury from the body, not the brain. To chelate it from the brain one

needs to use ALA.

Can somebody tell me how to dose chelator on 8 hours schedule? We are currently

doing every 4 hours DMSA (about 6mcg), my son is 36 lb.,don't see very much

changes or pulls. Would it be the same dosing for 8 hours protocol?

Thanks

Natalia
