Guest guest
My daughter was vocalling stimming for a long time too. Since treating her parasites, the vocal stims have stopped. They come back as soon as the parasites come back (they are SO hard to kill) I always know when the eggs are being laid, because she does her crazy vocal thing. That's just what I know of vocal stims. But what about viral issues? > > Hi All, > > My 5 year old has always and still has a vocal stim. It starts from the > moment he wakes till he goes to bed. Guest guest
The way I knew it was parasites was every night at around 6 or 7pm she would start acting crazy. Vocal stims, running all over, sweating, playing with her saliva and chewing her fingers. Just putting anything in her mouth. I did a tape her bum test and saw eggs. We see a naturapath and confirmed the pinworms. It's been over 30 days of treatment and she still has them. Bloated belly, dark circles and a few other things can mean parasites too. > > > > > > Hi All, > > > > > > My 5 year old has always and still has a vocal stim. Guest guest
Hi, I hope you don't mind if I ask a basic question: what exactly is a vocal stim? My daughter, who has many ASD traits but no autism label, often talks to herself and vocalizes. As a toddler she used to make certain repetitive sounds, which we all thought was very cute at the time. Now I wonder if it wasn't a form of stimming, but I don't know what exactly vocal stimming sounds like. I'm also wondering if parasites are affecting my child. I'd like to try using wormwood, cloves and black walnut hull - is this what you used or did you use prescription medicine? Thanks, > > My daughter was vocalling stimming for a long time too. Describe exactly what your child does, and I will see if it sounds like either of my son's stims. Dana
Guest guest
A vocal stim is often scripting (repeating memorized things) or doing what you describe. Incidentally, i hate the word stim. I feel like people think of it as a real negative, and something to be " extinguished. " I think of it as a calming or coping mechanism for our kids. I never really focused on the " stim " but tried to find out what it was telling me about their experience. For example, my son scripted almost all language for a long time. This was a problem with motor planning - planning and sequencing novel language was too hard, so he coped by memorizing phrases and using them to communicate. Smart cookie! But, working on motor planning ( OT) and biomed really helped this. He no longer scripts ever. He also used to do vocals " stims " or the kind of things you describe. And, for me, it was always an indication that his sensory system was " off " and he was using it to calm him. So, we did more OT , looked hard at the biomed to see what may be awry or missing, and things resolved. Good luck in your search. He does script alot from his favourite TV shows or just says random words. The other type is just constant noise like a " eeeeeee " . That particular stim is the one that lasts all day and can be quite loud at times. He definitely has sensory issues where he is constantly needing sensory feedback. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks Donna.

I have been giving these to him for about 3 months with no change. I have tried GSE on and off when he gets crazy with the noise but still no change. Do you recommend anything else or is 3 months not long enough to see some change in this behaviour? Thanks Donna.

At the peak of anti-virals, I had to give my son 20mg biotin 3x per day plus 4 tablets GSE [each one approx 150mg] 3x per day. You can also try oil of oregano, which works better for some kids. My son did not tolerate it. Or, your son's problem may not be yeast. There were several other supps required for my son, to eliminate both types of vocal stims. And for the " eeeeeeee " one, at least once it was caused by giving a supp once it was time to remove it. Dana
Guest guest
My son did the " eeeeeee. " It does get annoying! He would get so loud! I thought my ears would bleed. I changed his supplements around and it's finally improved. > > > Hi Dana > > > My son also has two different types of vocal stims.
