While animal studies are encouraging, more research is needed to understand whether this benefit applies to people as well. Guess what!! The animals used in the ALA studies have no mercury in their bodies!! no mercury amalgam in their teeth!! no vaccines for DPT, Hep B, etc etc etc. The fact that ALA is a chelator isn't generally recognized (in the whole world outside of this group) and when it is mentioned most people have no clue what the impact will be of giving it to mercury poisoned people at anything other than the half life. How to recognize and treat mercury poisoning isn't well understood in the world outside of this group. Well meaning doctors who want to chelate the mercury out and help their patients are doing all sorts of harmful things to them because they simply are not aware of the truth. The process is explained here: http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/ > why would ALA in small doses be safe then? Small doses stir up less mercury, and dosing on the half-life (every 3 hours) keeps the mercury from resettling by maintaining constant blood levels of chelator as long as the round continues. It is very helpful. Sheresa
Guest guest
thanks you for the page and info; I knew ALA; DMSA and DMSP are the topics discussed here; so ALA is almost like a drug; something like Vitamin B3 Niacin or Vitamin A Synthetic or synthetic VitamiN K can build up too much; very interesting; suprising no M.D> has ever emtnioned this and most Nutrtional M.D.s; such as Dr. Sahlian; Dr. Hoffman; Dr,. Mercola etc have never warned abotut ALA inbut alwasy warn of B3; vit. A and K2 I must add; the dangersof ALA may be over exaggerated; just my opin. I understand Natrual Vitamin A can also chelate; aprrecite your info anything to help keep kids off " medications ! > > > > i think i read a study of AlA being used on 'mercury with good results > > Using ALA to get rid of mercury is the main thing this list discusses. Guest guest
Very intersting rading... I did see a picture of a chelating molecule removing a Mercury molecule; really amazing how ALA and other chelating agents do this as mentioned Parsley and other herbs can also help; Cilantro is good. But I just wanted to say this: I have never recommended ALA in single large doses to anyone on this list or any other: I once said ALA is a good antiozidant and would be ok to take 2 times a week 9say on the weekedns for an audlt without other chelating); taking ALA two or three times a week is the adult reocmmended dosage. I do not even believe in single dose Nutrients except for Vitamin D; Vitamin Minerals aminos are needed on a dialy basis in normal amts.--- In , " " <lindajaytee@...> wrote: > > > > > > > > > > Brain Function and Stroke (source: University of land...) > > > > Because alpha-lipoic acid can pass easily into the brain, it has > > > protective effects on brain and nerve tissue and shows promise as a > > > treatment for stroke and other brain disorders involving free > > radical > > > damage. > > > > > > > > > > Animals treated with alpha-lipoic acid, for example, suffered > > less > > > brain damage and had a four times greater survival rate after a > > stroke > > > than the animals who did not receive this supplement.
