Seriously, as a christian I have often wondered about how that fits into the vaccination debate. I am not of the persuasion that God designed the body to be such a masterpiece but that it was somehow " flawed " in needing vaccinations. ************************************** See AOL's top rated recipes (http://food.aol.com/top-rated-recipes?NCID=aoltop00030000000004)

And it was funny too. … lol Btw Not too get scientific, but isn't it such a coincidence that our benevolent Creator so wonderfully designed a body with an auto- immune system able to defend and take care of it self. Doesn't it just blow your mind to think about how complex, yet in every way the body functions protecting it self from the outside world. … Guess it is intelligent design after all….. Perhaps Created for a purpose too. (wink) As always my best Kenny v
Guest guest
Just a lurker, but I am still at a loss to understand how so many of you reconcile the concept of a benevolent god with what you see and live every day. I suppose the concept is that we (and all the homeless, starving, unemployed, sick, forlorn folks around the world) are being tested by god (i.e. the JOBs of the world)? I am more easily able to understand the required system of belief for any faith based notion pre mass media times, when the world was not so visible, but now I can't fathom how to conform what I see, hear, live, etc. with any notion of a god who actually gives a hoot. I sometimes think how comforting it must be to believe in god, but haven't been able to, ever, despite being raised going to services every week. The one thing that always struck me at church when I was little was the prayer after the Our Father when the priest says " Deliver us lord from every evil and grant us peace in our day. In your mercy keep us free from sin and protect us from all ANXIETY, as we (a)wait in joyful hope...... " Well, that prayer doesn't seem to be being answered in our population, unless you consider ACE and other adrenal support, Andy's advice, etc. a gift from god :-) Okay, enough blathering. I am not a troll, not looking to pick a fight, just thinking about all of this in a very uncoherent way as the holiday season is upon us, and don't really have others to talk to about this. No response necessary, of course. Callie > > > > Jesus wasn't vaccinated. > > > > Andy > > > I say Amen to that. Guest guest
ahh, suffering of the masses. The reason child #1 is an athiest. I don't know. I have fallen away from my faith and do not go to church. I can't stand the mendacity. Like for example, the child is not autistic, if she screams and spits at you, she must be possessed. Diagnosis is viewed as an excuse for sin. I just still believe in God, but I don't go to church or participate in ministry. My ministry is my family, and that is all I can handle. I think it is cool that Jesus was not vaccinated. I also hope that someday my child #1 will come around from being an atheist because of the how can God allow suffering in the world question, when he gains more maturity. Guest guest
I'm the first to admit that ASD has not been a bed of roses for my family. However, I also look at the world with a great deal more empathy and take more positive actions than I would if I had not have had this experience. I see the hand and experience the love of God every day. Merry Christmas Everyone! > > ahh, suffering of the masses. The reason child #1 is an athiest. I don't know. Guest guest
Thanks everyone for your input, on list and off, on this OT topic. Guest guest
To everyone, What a great thread! What would Jesus do? If I remember correctly, he was very good at calling people on the carpet, at stating the law and explaining to others how they had misinterpreted and abused the rules. He fought the establishment. He also was a little upset at the money-changing in the temple. Hmnn. Doesn't that apply here? I believe the teaching also was that the body is a " temple " . Where do vaccines, drugs, GMO foods, perverted meats (abx, growth enhancers, no free range, etc.) and environmental toxins fit into that concept? It is said that he also went about healing the sick. He used the word " faith " , and when you add work and follow-through to the believing part, you get somewhere. Does autism seem a little like leprosy? If you believe that healing is possible... research, and work towards your goal, Miracles can happen! How many miracles (healed kids) do you know? Years ago Burns starred in two movies about God. They were so excellent, everyone should rent them and watch them again. (Great for Christmas) My favorite part was when God was asked what HE was going to do about all the troubles of mankind. His response, " What are YOU going to do about it? " That's what I always think. What are WE going to do? Do we let evil keep on doing evil? (Pharma, War, governments, abuse, etc.) God didn't cause autism. He didn't create vaccines. He didn't cause Katrina to punish the " wicked. " People aren't possessed. They can be very sick. We don't " deserve to be sick " . The earth has elements - good and bad. It's up to us what we do with those elements. You can create a tool - or a weapon. Choice. People created vaccines. People created bio-warfare. People need jobs and sometimes are forced to work in health/environmentally unsafe occupations. People live life in areas known to be subject to natural disasters. Weather happens. Illness happens. People are lied to by those in charge. Sucky things happen. What are WE going to do? I tell everyone I have conversations with, that the parents of autistic kids know the most. You all know so very much. Educated by necessity. All the parents here are phenomenal. All those who have credible knowledge and education, as well as all the amazing parents who've been there - done that... All of you who continually help others are DOING something about it. All those who are politically active are doing something about it. Also, our earth has incredible tools for healing - real foods, herbs, sunshine, energies we don't even know how to use yet -- as well as remarkable people who dedicate their lives to helping others heal through various methods. If life has a purpose, a big part of the purpose is to learn. (Tho' most all of us would rather be learning something else!) Part of this journey is to learn compassion, empathy, acceptance, love, helpfulness. I don't know if there is a God or not. I don't know if he/she cares. But when we humans get mobilized... things happen. I'm so grateful for the internet, where people can share especially what works. And, I'm grateful because there ARE answers. Season's Hope! Faith! Joy! Success! Life! Judy (apologize for the length of this " sermon " ... > > Brings a whole new twist on " WWJD " .
