Guest guest
As far as I know, is they went in and removed to tumors of my ovaries, they left my ovaries intact so that I can still have kids one day. They found two small tumors both of which were cancerous, so they think they had got it all. I have another ultra sound appointment on july 31 to make sure it's not spreading anymore. I had a laparotomy done back at in the first week of june. > > > > [ ] Out of the hospital > > > > I haven't replied in the last couple days because I have been in the > > hospital. Guest guest
Hi, Did a Gyn/Onc do your surgery? What stage are you? Someone earlier suggested you subscribe to the Ovarian Cancer discussion group. I think you will find all the help and support you need if you join that group of women and caregivers. To join, send an e-mail to: listserv@.... (no subject needed) In message body write: sub Ovarian (your first and last name) If you have trouble this way, simply go to the ACOR site, as someone else suggested. I hope this helps.... Guest guest
Jeanine, That is such good news to hear. I am so glad for you that all went well. I also hope that you will be totally pain free after your recovery. It is always so good to hear a success story like you just shared. I wish that I could have all that I need to have done so that I also could be pain free like you. I often think what it would be like have the disk in my neck repaired and to be free from the horrible pain that I have in my neck and shoulders. Perhaps someday I will be able to have it done. Until that day comes I will continue to rejoice at the good fortune of everyone else who shares good news like you did. MY PRAYER AND WISH FOR YOU IS THAT YOU WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE A GOOD RECOVERY AND THAT YOU WILL BE TOTALLY PAIN FREE. MAY YOU HAVE A BETTER DAY TOMORROW THAN TODAY AND MAY IT BE PAIN FREE. TAKE AS BEST CARE AS YOU CAN. I SEND YOU ALL MY BEST WISHES, LARRY Jeanine <jeaninezuk@...> wrote: Hi all. Thank you all so much for all your responses to my questions. It really did help me to prepare better for what to expect pre-surgery and post surgery. Well I am out of the hospital and home now, and very loopy on pain meds. Percocet is what I will be taking for a while for the pain. From what I can tell it seems the surgery was a success. I have having no pain in the lower back from what I can tell, other then the pain from the incision itself. The pain in my legs is gone, and all the horrific pain in my abdomen. It is still a bit early to tell how successful, but I am hoping I can start enjoying my life again after recovery of course. The neurosurgeon said that the herniation was huge, a lot worse then what the MRI showed and that it was a good thing we did the surgery now. I am happy to have it over and done with. No more nausea now from the nerves. They did a great job tearing up the roof of my mouth though with the air tube they put during the operation, and my throat and neck is very sore and swollen. Was not expecting that but hopefully that will all heal up soon. Well I better get back in bed, and not sit here in front of the pc too much longer. I am starting to feel the pul of the incision so thats my sign to bring this post to an end. Thank you all very much again, for all your helpful advice and responses to my questions. I will keep you all posted on my recovery process if you wish. I wish all of you a pain free day!!Jeanine ;0)REMEMBER ALL OF OUR MEN AND WOMEN IN THE ARMED SERVICE OF OUR NATION PRAY THAT THEY MAY BE SAFE AND SOUND IN BODY AND MIND
Guest guest
HELLO KATRINA, THANK YOU FOR THE KIND WORDS. IT IS SO GOOD TO HAVE THIS GROUP TO COME TO AND SHARE WHAT IS GOING ON IN MY LIFE AS I DEAL THE CHRONIC PAIN OF MY NECK AND BACK INJURIES. I AM UNABLE HAVE ANY TYPE OF SURGERY DONE RIGHT NOW SINCE I HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE AND SLEEP APNEA. THOSE TWO MAKE ME A HIGH RISK FOR SURGERY. SO, I JUST TRY TO DEAL WITH THE EVERY DAY PAIN AND TRY TO MAKE IT ONE DAY AT A TIME. I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WOULD DO WITHOUT THE GROUP. IT HAS REALLY BEEN A SOURCE OF STRENGTH FOR ME IN THE MANY TIMES THAT I HAVE NEEDED A PLACE TO COME AND SHARE MY PAIN AND WHAT IS GOING ON IN MY LIFE. IT IS SUCH A HUMBLING THING TO HEAR FROM OTHERS THAT ARE IN MUCH WORSE CONDITION THAN I AM IN. I HOPE THAT I WILL SOMEDAY BE ABLE TO GET MY NECK TAKEN CARE OF,BUT RIGHT NOW THAT IS JUST NOT POSSIBLE. I TRY TO KEEP A POSITIVE OUTLOOK ,BUT SOMETIMES IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO DO. WE ARE IN SUCH A BAD FINANCIAL CONDITION RIGHT NOW. IT'S VERY STRESSFUL TO HAVE SO MANY THINGS THAT NEED TO BE PAID AND NOT TO HAVE THE MONEY TO DO IT. WELL,SO MUCH FOR ME AND MY PROBLEMS. MAY YOU HAVE A BETTER DAY TODAY THAN YESTERDAY,AND NOT AS GOOD A DAY AS TOMORROW. TAKE AS BEST CARE AS YOU CAN AND BE SAFE LARRY sweettoobeme <sweettoobeme@...> wrote: Larry,I really wish they could do more to help you. I can't help but notice the things that you mention, in which you struggle. It is so hard to get through day to day with this kind of pain. Guest guest
Larry- You are very welcome for the kind words and I mean them all. To the group- Have any here tried any herbal/homeopathic or Alternative therapies to ease any of your symptoms? Just curious. Me personally I did the chiropractor thing for years before my surgery. Jeanine ;0) And yes I am feeling better then yesterday ;0) Re: Re: Out of the hospital HELLO JEANINE, THANKS FOR THE KIND WORDS THAT YOU SENT MY WAY. MY DOCTOR TOLD ME THAT DUE TO THE FACT THAT I HAVE SLEEP APNEA AND HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE THAT I AM JUST NOT A CANDIDATE FOR SURGERY AT THIS TIME . I HOPE TO HAVE IT DONE AT SOME TIME IN THE FUTURE. I ONLY MENTIONED MY DIABETES BECAUSE I SENT A MESSAGE TO TERI ABOUT MY HAVING IT WHEN I READ HER POST THAT MENTIONED IT . I DON'T WANT TO STRAY AWAY FROM OR GROUP PURPOSE RELATING TO BACK AND NECK PAIN. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR ALL THE KIND WORDS THAT YOU HAVE SENT MY WAY. I HOPE THAT YOU WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE A GOOD RECOVERY FROM YOUR SURGERY. IT MAY TAKE SOME TIME FOR YOU TO GET YOUR STRENGTH BACK IN YOUR LEGS ,SO JUST TAKE IT EASY AND LET YOUR BODY HEAL AT ITS OWN SPEED.DON'T GET DISCOURAGED AT THE PROGRESS. IT WILL GET BETTER WITH TIME. ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU FOR THE KIND WORDS THAT YOU SENT MY WAY.IT MEANS A LOT TO ME TO HEAR SUCH THINGS AS WHAT YOU SENT TO ME. TAKE CARE AND BE SAFE. LARRY Jeanine <jeaninezuk@...> wrote: Larry I so wish there was something that can be done for you. my father has type 2 diabetes as well. He takes insulin injections as well. He has had 2 surgeries in his neck where they removed the discs and did the fusion thing. He has also had one lower back surgery though that was years ago and he has since reinjured it. I wonder why he has been able to have the surgeries and you have not. Maybe he doesnt have the sleep apnea is why? I am not sure. I do hope someday though you will get some relief from all your pain. I also know what it is like to struggle financially. My family struggles with that as well. It is very hard and very trying on us all, but we manage to hang in somehow and the grace of god gets us through.Well as you can see it is 5:18am and I am awake. I cannot sleep, as my legs have quite a bit of pain today and I am hoping that my earlier thought of the surgery going well is not awash. I am hopeing the pain in my legs is due to not being able to get around a lot and so it has just made them week. I have also had some stomach cramps as I seem to be having some trouble with my bowels. Not to gross anyone out but has any one else had that problem after surgery? Well I guess I will go and try to sleep. Again thank you to all who have been supportive of me. I really appreciate it and you all will be in my prayers. Larry I hope the day comes soon for the end of your pain. Oh and one more thing. My husband and I partake every year (I was unable to this year due to my back) in the American Diabetes Association "Tour De Cure" this year Hubby rode the 100mile tour and raised $2100 for the association. So just letting you know that I will always do what I can to aid in a cure for diabetes, and hope that comes one day for you and my father as well. God Bless!Jeanine ;0) > Hi all.
