My Mom who is 78 has been self treating Breast cancer for 8 years.

Now the cancer is much worse and the tumor is growing and starting to

Bleed a little through the skin. All kinds of leg pain, back pains

And neck pains started after a biopsy and a recent x-ray seemed to show

It is possible the cancer has spread to her bones. But we are not 100

Percent sure .

I am new to this list but can anybody help with the following questions:

1. My parents are poor and only have Medicare or Medicaid -neither I nor

them

Can afford to send her to an expensive alternative clinic -

I feel at this point she needs to work with a practitioner who uses

alternative

Treatment means to help her with pain and the bleeding and to try to slow or

stop the progress

Of the cancer . Any advice ?

2. They live in Virginia Beach Va and I spoke to one ND there who said she

treats a few cancer patients

But the protocol is very expensive and none of it is covered by Medicare

Medicaid .

Does anybody body know of an MD who accepts Medicare ? And treats cancer in

Va Beach ?

And uses some alternative treatments perhaps and some conventional .

3. A friend who is a nurse is saying the pain of bone cancer can be treated

with pin point

Radiation .... Now my Mom uses oxycontin for pain ... Is there an

alternative to radiation

For pain alleviation ?

4. Does anybody know what can be taken to prevent severe constipation from

oxycontin

Until we find another way to manage her pain .

Thanks for any advice or help ....
