Guest guest
To share what I am doing for breast cancer. LEF.org, the Life Extension Foundation has specific supplement protocols for specific diagnoses. Of note the green tea and especially the turmeric is increasingly becoming embraced by even main stream docs for its anti-angiogenic properties. Dr Folkman who initially pioneered it is the Chief Of Staff at a Children's Hosptial in Boston. Drug companies are monopolizing his work although still with very encouraging results in a five year study where cancers that were terminal are being reversed. He has before and after case histories, pictures that were televised on a University broadcast. I am a big believer in juicing with fresh or frozen organic berries. Specifically the seeds in red rasberries are the highest in ellagic acid supported by 3 different University studies, but also all the berries are excellent antioxidants. Juicing or eating fresh rosemary, ginger, fresh beets, green leafy vegetables at least daily preferably more. Carrot juice. Juicing with the whole citrus, organic, also has universtity studies showing that breast cancer cells are inhibted by the d-limonene found in the skins. The omega 3s, essential fatty acids found in the good fats which we have discussed and also part of the LEF protocol. I have used the Hoxsey elixirs but it does have an estrogenic effect and most breast cancers are said to be hormone driven. Being ER - though felt it safe for me. In the beginning I used B-17 in the form of fresh apricot seeds and still juice with the beet greens and the whole apple, the seed also being a good source of amygladin or natural laetrile. Of note too the oncology nurses were more open to alternatives and just suggested the day prior to, the day of and the day after chemo to not use the antioxidants. Reading as much as you can to gain knowledge is in itself encourging. Realizing there is junk science and for profit predators, BUT there are objective, credible, educated MDs, PHds who offer dcoumented viable options. In my early days after teh oncolgist whispering I might try some herbs or something I was just totally overwhelmed looking for answers. When I would come across any mind-body connections, attitude, would skim over it with a yada-yada mindest, wanting something concrete instead. It is now becoming obviously clear that my attitude, perspective is not only a piece of the puzzle...making the determination that I will ensure my sense of well being is the most important aspect of healing. The emphasis is on living. My prayers are with you. Donna
