Guest guest
People choose surgery, chemo, and radiation because that is what the doctors tell them will work. There is a trust factor involved and most people simply trust the doctor to make the right decision. They trust the training. They trust the position. And that is that. The vast majority of the people I work with have had everything modern medicine can do and are now searching for one last chance because the system has failed. They believed the doctors right up to the point where there was nothing left to do. And, many of them simply go home and die because that is what they have been told to do. Even those that come to me and ask questions frequently refuse to listen because it does not fit into what they believe based upon what they have already been told. The doctor said nothing will help. They look but at the same time are looking for reinforcement of what was told to them. They are afraid to try because what has already transpired has failed and they do not want to face another failure. So, rather than try one more time, they simply accept that there is nothing more to do. That way the hopes are not dashed and they do not have to worry about it any longer. I know this is really a whacked out way to look at things, but after interviewing more than 100 people in the last 18 months that have (or had and are now dead) terminal cancer, this is really what it all boiled down to. Death was preferable to failure. Again, it is a matter of choice. The other side of the coin is that those who survive are also vindicated because they too believed the doctor. A wonderful reinforcement of negativism. Please understand that I am not anti-cancer treatment with modern medicine. Nor am I anti-doctor. I believe everyone has the right to choose whatever program they wish, but what irritates me more than anything are those who believe that only their way works and anyone who does not listen to them is wrong. Well, we pick on the medical profession because they generally get first crack at the nut, but a lot of people do not choose any more wisely when it comes to natural solutions to things and even fewer consider using both to their advantage. The very same reason one 'could not look their children in the eye and choose a burger', is the very same reason people have for 'not looking their children in the eye to choose some kooky, vitamin/supplement or Flax Oil protocol but instead select what 90+% of the people do select and that is conventional treatment. I do not think people select conventional for 'getting attention'. Too many of us, and I've seen it on another list as well, look down on people that do not subscribe to what they want them to subscribe. How cockey can one be? We believe we have learned something therefore those 'others', those attenton seeking people simply look for presents. We need to be thankful we have learned or maybe we are cowards and are afraid to go conventionally because of the pain and suffering? Maybe that's it. We are afraid. I do not believe that for one moment, but wouldn't that be the same kind of accusation that they want 'attention'? It is what Bruce said, Choices, and I add, based upon beliefs. It wasn't too long ago many of us believed the same thing. Joe C.
