Guest guest
Hi, I'm a new member who was recently diagnosed with pappilary thyroid cancer. What started as a simple visit to the nutritionist for supplements to control cholesterol put me in a " Tornado " for almost 3 months+ To sum up the symptoms my bodys sympathetic system was kicked in high gear, non stop, 24/7 and has finally calmed down. Tachycardia and near passing out was almost as bad as the brain fog. Now, they would not look at thyroid issues because my bloodwork was " fine " .. Which led me to a alternative doctor that said he thought even though the thyroid levels were " normal " it probably got bumped up. I pleaded for an ultrasound on my neck. Low and behold..and here I am now. I know this is more for alternative treatments but I feel like I've been scared into thinking if I don't do surgery it will spread and life will be hell and I will die! What worries me is the surgery in 2 weeks and the anethesia and my body reacting to the drugs and anethesia. I can barely take an ibuprofen anymore without the tachycardia or side effect similar to that, how in the heck am I going to be able to take the anethesia? Also what do they tell you about the radioactive iodine and what if you refuse it? I have a 2 year old and my husband is against the RAI for fear of their health, even though I know you take precautions, etc. Any insight is sooo appreciated.
