If you can get hold of Dr. Cowden's book " Definitive Guide to Cancer " and check out Dr. Rubio's clinic. You can call their 800 number and get more information. What part of the country are you in? That book would also give you a lot of information on bone cancer. I do know the cleansing, juicing, herbs, colonics and all the things all cancer patients do is appropriate. God Bless you journey. Guest guest Posted April 4, 2000 Report Share Posted April 4, 2000 Sharon: There are many types of bone cancers and the prognosis varies with type and staging. Many people do survive bone cancer. I suggest you do a web search on " bone cancer " and then further search the type that you are concerned with. Survival rates have become much better in the last decade for certain types. I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (osteo=bone)three years ago. This is a rare type of bone cancer, typically in the teens/twenties age group. But there are various sub-types and prognoses vary by subtype, locus, and staging. My general recollection is that 5-year survival rates are 50-80% across all sub-types. My own subtype, as best the doctors can assess it, is very rare among osteosarcomas and has a poor 5-year prognosis (~10%). But the rarity of the type makes the 5-year estimate only marginally reliable. Most are discovered at advanced stage and that affects the prognosis. Fortunately, mine had not yet metastized (was still primary), although at grade II. Also, medical advances in the past decade have probably improved survival. Anyway,I am a case to prove that demise is not an immediate fate and hope remains for long term survival. I go in for my next set of scans tomorrow. > What can anyone tell me about Bone Cancer? As far as looking after yourself during this stressful time, you may want to do some research on supporting your adrenals (licorice extract, vitamin C, ginseng and echinacea). I have also read that Kava Kava is helpful for stress. In addition, you may want to investigate Bach Rescue Remedy, as I have heard that some people really find that helpful. I heard one naturopathic doctor recommend homeopathic preparation Arnica 30X for times of extreme stress. ....keep your chin up! ...the sun will shine tomorrow! I kept asking " what next " and finally realized that was not a good thing to ask. It might sound crazy but I felt if I stopped asking " what next " that the next would stop happening and they did. In my opinion, testimonies of disease cures should be printed up in journals, and not non-effective research. If your dad's protocol can cure cancer with good success, you'll have found another cancer cure. There are many ways to cure cancer. I have just been diagnosed with bone cancer (past breast cancer mets). I am looking into alternative treatments. Have just finished a course of radiotherapy which the doctors stated was 'palliative' only. I have been reading about Vitamin B17 (which I have discovered is illegal in Oz and cannot be bought). I have a poor prognosis and was wondering whether your group could recommend any 'natural' products that may help. I am also taking " Arimidex and Bonefos......I am also having a hard time getting my head back in place and am pretty depressed......Thank you. What you need to do, is ask the Oncologist/Radiologist whether or not the proposed Chemo and Radiation is Palliative or Curative. Ask them as if you know something so that they perceive you might. I suggest this because of a study I read where it was stated by Medical Professionals, that, " all treatment for breast cancer Metastasis is palliative. It is sometimes difficult to 'stay on course when discussing these things with the men/women in the white coats because we are almost overwhelmed with technical and worrisome issues. I was shocked when I read that statement but again, realized it is something few will ever come across and this was sent me by someone that 'edits' Medical Reports. Because what you previously did was not effective, it is likely that diet is not going to do much in the immediate future though good eating is still better than poor. Other things you did, whatever they were, might not be effective at all and even when they are, they are not for everyone, all the time. Perhaps a practitioner that works with Breast Cancer Mets will respond to this and with that, I wish you the best. If what 'they' are offering you is Palliative, then that is more encouragement to really work hard to defeat this enemy., Good luck, Joe C. Joe C. The manager there sends me down a whole box of apricot seeds and then we grind them up. The orchard is not allowed to sell the stones so we just have to pay for postage. the manager is an awesome guy and has lots of positive stories to say about people he has seen get much better.
