Guest guest
Please note the original recipe is in the book on macrobiotic cooking called " The Hip Chick's Guide to Macrobiotics " by Porter, she " borrowed " the recipe from another source. Her book is a great primer, with a light-hearted but serious approach to Macrobiotic cooking. I modified the recipe so that it did not use Corn oil(a no no for Cancer people) SEEWEED NUT CRUNCH 1/2cup Sesame Oil (it handles high heat well) 1/2 cup Maple Syrup (bet the grade B it's not refined) 1 cup sliced or chopped almonds (raw preferably) 1 cup raw sesame seeds 6 sheets of nori seaweed either cut into strips or torn into pieces 1 tsp. soy or tamari (try to get the organic light suace) Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Pour sesame oil and maple syrup in a large skillet. Bring to a frothy boil and add almonds, stir, and add sesame seeds and nori pieces/strips. Sprinkle in the soy or tamari. Continue stirring until everything is coated. Pour into one a a baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes. Let cool and enjoy. serves 6 I break or cut this up into various sized pieces. It gives me a healthy goodie/snack for hiking or anytime. It is a great almond- brittle-like treat. Yours in Good Health and Surviving!
