I've read this on Aspartame before, and it is very convincing. It's

also one of the reasons Stevia, a natural sweetener is classified as an

herb, and is not allowed to be labeled a sweetener. No exclusive money

in it. For that matter, look at the other sugar substitutes that have

been approved on shaky research.

Cyclamates are no more carcinogenic than fruit, but they were

banned/labeled bad on shaky evidence (i.e. a lab rat ingesting 10,000

times the normal amount). If someone shoved that much into me, I might

have a bad reaction like cancer also.

I've always maintained one should stay away from Diet foods and drinks.

Something has to be used to extract or neutralize the calories or other

items they are trying to remove to make it fat free, or less fattening.

Eat the regular foods, use real butter, etc., just eat less. It's

better for you in the long run. All this talk about avoiding sugar is

wrong in my opinion. Sugar is a necessary staple of the body,

regardless of the source. It's the fuel that feeds the engine in our

body. It's an overblown issue, much like the red meat issue. For that

matter, recall the butter and salt issues. Now that too has been reversed.

Sounds a bit absurd, but:

If you take the T off of DIET, what do you get?
