Guest guest
Hi Sorry to hear about your father and sorry I can't help you but i tried to get the same information from several groups about 6 weeks ago after my husband was diagnosed with cancer. My husband wanted conventional treatment and i wanted the more gentle alternative treatments, i liked CCA because they offer both. In the end my husband decided he didn't want to travel so far for treatments. We are using both alternative and conventional treatments ay home. If and when my husbands cancer gets too bad i would consider going to see them. I don't think the first visit costs anything if you find they are not for you, and if you decide to go with them they do work with insurance companies so there is little out of pocket expense to you. You can also find out before you go if your insurance company will pay the costs. Phone them with any questions anytime, i always found them willing to answer any question i had. Please let me know what you decide and how you get on should you decide to go to CCA. If i can help in any other way please email me. Take care, Jackie Payne wrote: Does anyone have any experience with this place, either personally or through a friend or family member? Guest guest
Hi : > Does anyone have any experience with this place, either personally or > through a friend or family member? I know in 1996 they were slapped > around a little bit by the FTC and they've been reported on by > quackwatch, but I'm not too concerned about all of that. ==>I didn't know that the FTC investigated them - how interesting. I guess that's why their slick commercials now have that teeny little printed disclaimer on them. I called them a few months ago to find out what kind of treatment they had (I have aggressive breast cancer), which is nothing special or different than any other treatment offered by a local oncologist. You can go to a natropath for add'l help w/herbs, vitamins, etc. What really turned me off of them is that when they asked what kind of insurance I have (Medicare), I was told I 'wasn't eligible' for treatment with them. Huh?? I pressed and insisted they explain this and finally got the truth out of the deskwarmer I was talking to: they absolutely refuse to treat anyone who has Medicare, Medicaid, mediocre insurance, lousy insurance or no insurance. They only want patients with excellent insurance that they can milk to the max. This really made me want to hurl. Their commercials make them seem so caring and compassionate. Not!!! Now every time I see one of their commercials on tv, I want to throw something. I personally want doctors more interested in ME, not how much money they can get out of my insurance company. Phooey on them......... ~Amber

Guest guest
Hi , From: " Payne " <nantzie@...> > Does anyone have any experience with this place, either personally or > through a friend or family member? not through a personal friend or family member, but I've heard many lectures from naturopathic physicians at CTCA hospitals and have learned a lot about them. They're most conventional and also use quite a number of complementary therapies. Their Seattle location's outpatient only and is the most naturopathic of their hospitals, but it's still predominantly conventional. I think CTCAs are enormously better than any conventional hospital. However, I personally would choose a more alternative hospital, particularly for typeo of cancer (e.g., advanced stomach cancer) that's inoperable & not very responsive to chemo & radiation. Let me know if you have any specific questions about CTCA.
