, I would like to thank you for your input in the newsgroup.

I'm

writing to you because you appear to have been studying the use of alternative

medicine as potential cancer cures. I don't believe that either traditional or

alternative medicine knows how to treat and cure cancer properly, but a

combination of the two may be more successful. My mother who is 66 years old has

recently been diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of the lung, stage IIIa. From the

x-rays and cat scans it appeared that the tumor would be operable and 9 weeks

ago

she underwent a lobe-ectomy, but the lobe was not removed after determining that

the cancer had spread to the local sided lymph nodes near the heart. She has

just

went through her first round of chemo 2 weeks ago. Her treatments will be 2

rounds

of chemo (taxol) each 3 weeks apart followed by 5 weeks of daily radiation

treatments with low dose chemo followed by an additional round of full strength

chemo. I believe she is taking something else along with the taxol treatments,

can't remember off-hand which it is.

A note about my mother, she refuses to take anything unless her doctors tell her

to. Possibly a good thing, but her doctors are of a mind not to prescribe any

additional things that may help, such as vitamin supplements etc... My sister is

a

pharmD working for a drug manufacturer and has time to look into alternative

treatments that may benefit my mother. She may be in a position to advise the

oncologist on supplements that may help. So I guess my main question is, do you

have medical reports or treatment studies that appear to be beneficial that you

would share with my family? Or could you send me a list of medical references

that

I could compile for her? This is very frustrating because I feel so helpless and

I

want to help my mom in any way I can.

Thank you for your time.
