Hello to all,

We just got home from 's MRI. has a Diffuse Intrinsic

Pontine Glioma. We do not have the official report yet. The radiologist was

nice enough to stay late and review her scan with us. The overall size of

's tumor has not changed. The edema seen on the previous scan is now

gone. Although she is still on a high dose of steroids. The smaller enhancing

circle contained within the overall tumor, now enhances less. This smaller

circle (on her PET scan) showed it contained necrotic components, dead cells.

This circle previously measured 2.4 cm and now measures 3.0 cm. The radiologist

indicated we need to see what her next PET scan shows but he feels due to

's lack of symptoms, the overall tumor staying the same size and the

smaller circle containing necrotic components this is probably not tumor growth

more likely the tumor breaking down. I sure hope he is right! I have a feeling

we are heading in the right direction. We still have a very long road ahead of

us. We need to find a balance between breaking down the tumor and controlling

the swelling, hopefully without steroids. We will do whatever it takes to rid

her body of this tumor. We have to be very thankful, journey with this

tumor has been difficult but mild compared to some of the children we know with

the same tumor. I ask that you continue to pray for and please remember

all the children who are fighting this horrible tumor or any other illness.

WITH HOPE & PRAYERS!!
