We got the terrible news today that Mama has small cell lung cancer.. does

anyone know of any cures for it? Is there any success rate? Mama still has

a great appetite, and has gained 5 pounds from about one month ago. A cancer

researcher told me to have her avoid sugar that it makes cancer grow...

thanks for all the prayers..please continue them that she can beat it and not

suffer ..thanks Kim

I don't use the word cure, but to respond to your question:

It's very fast-growing and difficult to treat; very few alt. treatment

centers specialize in it.

I've read that the following are effective in healing

small cell (oat cell) carcinoma of the lung (SCLC):

GERMANIUM-132 (Ge-132)-- Moderate to large doses should ONLY be

taken under supervision of physician.

melatonin-- effective even if metastasized

inosine (amino acid)

Chinese herbs

In 1 study, megadoses of vitamins and trace minerals markedly

increased survival.

It is 1 of the cancers that Gerson therapy is often effective

in treating. Gerson therapy's EXTREMELY demanding, though I think an

aggressive/intensive regimen is usually necessary in order to heal SCLC.

I also believe that Kelley(-)'s Nutritional-Metabolic Therapy is

very effective with it. This regimen is also quite demanding, but not as

demanding as Gerson therapy. A major component of Kelley's therapy (and

Gerson) is high doses of proteolytic enzymes, particularly pancreatin.

> Is there any success rate?

I've never seen any statistics, and it'd probably be hard to find any.

That's an UNDERSTATEMENT. For the same reason, I would also avoid

high-glycemic foods, even healthy ones such as (These are listed in order

of glycemic index, beginning w/the highest glycemic food): dates,

parsnips, pumpkin, white/red potato, watermelon, wheat,

millet, cornmeal, canteloupe, rice & rice products (including brown &

wild rice), muesli, raisins, corn, and popcorn.

If I had cancer, unless I was trying to gain weight, I would

avoid the above foods, particularly on an empty stomach.

Let me know if you'd like more info on any of the above, further info on diet

& supplements for healing cancer, or names of alt. practitioners in a

particular geographic area. I don't have any other info specifically re: SCLC.

Regards,

Leonard

kim,

Read the archieves on this group and the flaxseed oil group to see what most

people are doing. There are many who post here who have eliminated their cancer

or who have it under control for years. Also, please see the web site

www.drday.com created by Dr. Lorraine Day who healed herself of terminal breast

cancer.

Kind regards,
