Guest guest
Update: UK Hoxsey-Therapy Patient McCarron Continues to Do Well © by Chowka (May 31, 2000) " He's been alright, yes, " Dawn McCarron said about her husband in a phone conversation on May 28 from the home in the small town of Bagillt, Wales, on the west coast of England south of Liverpool that she shares with and their three young children. As I first reported on May 15, McCarron, 36, a tire fitter by trade, has been battling colon cancer for over two years. Three months ago, 's cancer — originally treated with surgery, a permanent colostomy, and chemotherapy — had spread to the liver; his physicians, who work for Britain's socialized National Health Service (NHS), told him there was nothing more they could do for him. Basically, he was given medication for the considerable pain he was suffering and told to go home and die. Dawn McCarron, 28, heard about the unconventional Hoxsey herbal therapy from a friend and in early March, with her father Roy Dunleavy, flew more than 6,000 miles from London to San Diego, California and then traveled by car across the U.S.-Mexican border to the Bio-Medical Center in Tijuana, also known as " The Hoxsey Clinic " . The Bio-Medical Center, the oldest alternative medicine facility in Mexico, is a licensed outpatient clinic that dispenses nontoxic and mainstream cancer treatments, including the Hoxsey Therapy. With several bottles — a six-month supply — of the liquid Hoxsey herbal medications in hand, Dawn McCarron returned to Wales and her husband began taking the treatment by mouth in small amounts three times a day. Before he started taking the Hoxsey " tonic, " as it is called, 's vital signs were declining, his liver function tests were off the scale, and the only other medication he was taking was for pain. After less than two months " on Hoxsey, " McCarron had improved so dramatically that A major UK tabloid newspaper, The Mirror, published a full-page article " The Herb of Hope " on April 25, reporting that McCarron had been given " a new lease on life " because of the Hoxsey treatment. Latest tests are encouraging The tests last February confirming that McCarron's cancer had spread beyond his colon also showed that he had developed advanced liver failure. His levels of bilirubin, indicating liver function, tested abnormally high — 374. A normal range, McCarron's doctors told him, is between seven and seventeen. In the days and weeks right after he started taking the Hoxsey treatment, McCarron's bilirubin levels fell steadily and dramatically. On May 28, Dawn McCarron told me, " The last blood [test] results, just under two weeks [ago] — the bilirubin had come down to nineteen from 46. So that's practically normal now. " The next test for McCarron will come at the end of May. " He's going for an X-ray, " Dawn McCarron said, " just to see how things are getting on, if they're improving any. He's got the X-ray [scheduled] on the 31st of May, and [the results will be back] about the 7th of June. So we'll have a lot more to say then. " In the meantime, Dawn and are still thinking about and preparing to make a trip to the Bio-Medical Center in Mexico " at the end of June. " It would be Dawn's second trip to Tijuana and McCarron's first. She added, " hopefully, yes " when asked if would be well enough to make the long journey less than four weeks in the future. A degree of equivocation, hinted at by the tiredness in her voice, is understandable, given the fact that — according to his original prognosis last February — McCarron " shouldn't really be here now, " according to Dawn. But " he's gotten much better. He's much better now than he was then [February], " Dawn added. Everybody reading this article, I'm sure, will also hope that Dawn McCarron and her husband will be able to make the trip as planned — and that McCarron's " new lease on life " will be a long term arrangement. Guest guest
Thanks for posting this experience. I went to the center for treatment of prostate cancer November of 99 with a PSA of 15.6, and climbing. After 45 days of treatment my PSA was .1. It has remained at this level. I continue to take the tonic, and several supplements. My impression of the Center is basically the same as the McCarron's. GOD is great. Guest guest
Rich: I hate to burst your baloon but I went through the same Hoxsey treatment with the same results for my prostate cancer because one of the supplements they give is estrogen and it lowers the PSA. You probably have hot flashes, sore swollen breasts, etc. As soon as you stop the hormone the PSA goes right back up. I called Mildred the long term head of the place and found out that it takes 2-3 years for the Hoxsey to work with PC. I went on to other more promising alt. treatments. (Mildred has since died). The doctors there confirmed what she had told me. I don't like telling you this but just feel it's necessary for you to know all you can from both angles. Very Best, JRollins PS. I believe my PC is cured from the Robt Barefoot cesium 30 day treatment but just to make sure I am on an experimental drug called exisulind for one year (It has no side effects in most cases. One month now and I can't even tell I'm taking it. My PSA was l4 last month but after 11 months since it came back and has been going up there is still no sign of metastasis. The cesium kills the cancer but it takes 6 months or so for the PSA to completely go away. And in some cases it never goes away but there are no tumors. (I had the cesium about 4 months ago.) The exisulind is supposed to bring the PSA down and halt the cancer. I had the first PSA blood drawn today and will know next week if the exisulind is working. It took 6 months of paperwork and my doctor's help to get the stuff from Cell Pathways. Thanks for posting this experience. Guest guest
JR, If you're going to make these types of comments about Hoxey- Therapy it would nice to be objective. I recall you saying you had some form of radiation before going to the center. I've been there twice. They have had great success with many people. I wanted my cancer under control while allowing my body to hwal itself. I don't think it will take 2 ywars, but if it does, that's fine with me. You are obviously still searching for a quick cure. Good luck. As I said, GOD is great, not............................... Rich PS I am very well. The primary reason I do very little podting is because some of us have established ourselves as experts on 150000 herbs GOD has made available to " all of us " . Guest guest
I went there in l992 and stayed a week interviewing patients from all over the world in the waiting room (with that great view of Tijuana) for a Dallas, Tx newspaper. I also had permission to go through any records I wished, which I did. I didn't have cancer until six years later and used Hoxsey for 8 months THEN had radiation. I knew you wouldn't accept an educated opinion easily. Is the large birdcage with the parrots still in front of the entrance. By the way I knew Hoxsey in the 50's when he had a large clinic in Dallas. He died from prostate cancer himself.. it's one of the cancers Hoxsey is least effective on. You need to do more research on the estrogen pills you're probably taking. And you didn't mention whether you're having " change of life symptoms " . Guest guest
We've always had educated fools. Maybe yours will exempt you from death (whatever that is). If you're happy with your sure fire experimental DRUGS, take them , your educated opinion and enjoy them; allow me to be happy with GOD and Hoxey. End of story. Please. no response is needed. Guest guest
There's no need to admit you're an educated fool. The educated part, however, is not apparant. You do not comment on facts brought out to you and wish to rely on faith alone. You seem to forget that the Lord helps those who help themselves...and that includes research. My previous comments speak for themselves whether you can accept them or not. Other viewers comments gratefully appreciated. The best anyway, JR
